Ok, but not good enough for me. The game is great, the mechanics not. Sort it as this goes on to long in my book.
You said it yourself...."weeks, months" Not happy to say, but i pay for it, and i want gaming time for my money, not downtime.

Well, just hit the 'cancel subscription' button, it's the only effective way to voice your concerns. The Yulai gate will miss you, though

Server coming back up... I would recommend being careful for the first 20 minutes though - in case they haven't quite fixed the problem.

A little communication with the customers goes a long way. Thanks for the update. It is sincerely appreciated.

Just A question regarding the server probs.
Is this why It takes 1.84 Mb of data to reach the char selection screen now - Im asking as Im using a gps connection overseas and Its costs me ú10.00 per Mb. Some word on this would be most appreciated.

At 20.08 today, a lot of players got disconnected from the server. I think many can confirm that - when I was logging back in about 20-30 minutes later, there were only 2500 players online, which would suggest 8-9 thousand were disconnected. When the disconnection occurred, the eve-online pages were inaccessible as well. Some additional information is in this thread. |

Edited by: Skogen Gump on 11/02/2005 06:28:29 Edited by: Skogen Gump on 11/02/2005 00:55:13 I know there was a big drop at 20:00. It happened to me ... but I still can't get on ... authenticates, restarts, connection to server lost.
Still can't get on - 10.5 hours later - what gives guys ?
I've reinstalled EVE, changed firewall settings, DMZd, tracerouted - I get a server status, Both test and live tell me how many people are online, as soon as I connect - bang connection to server lost.

I had one some time ago, it kept dieing.
As for the problem yesterday, at 2000, it seems like there was some big internet related problem in London. I'm not 100% sure, but if it was it's not CCPs fault.

Does it being CCP's fault have any bearing on reimbursals or not?
After almnost 2 years of this game I'm reaching breaking point, sadly I've lost confidence in CCP. Great concept though and I hope (still) things get sorted.
(And can I have my ship back please? )

Reimbursements is up to the GMs, I can't answer any questions about that. You can go and read the Reimbursement Policy to get an idea of what they do.

According to the server-status display at EVE-I all players were dropped for about 20 minutes at 2000 yesterday. If that's the case, that would mean the EVE server effectively lost connectivity to the rest of the world, which would mean any ships lost weren't to the players' own fault either... ______ Oveur: God said those 500 Gallente must die |

I can't tell you if it was the servers or something else because I simply don't know. But remember that if there was an internet problem it is likely that the EVE-I server status display lost connection as well, and that would show as everyone dropped. Afaik there were people who didn't lose connection.

Yep, and there were some people who only lost connection on one of two clients that were running on the same computer, on the same internet connection. Judging from the traceroute posted in another thread, an awful lot of packets got "eaten" by a pair of internet nodes that decided to shuffle the packets between each other instead of sending them on to their destination. If your packets were happening to go via that route, you lost connection. If your packets were going some other route, you probably survived....of course if those were (as the rumours suggest) fairly big nodes in London, it is likely most players were being routed through them at the time.

Why does everyone seem to have lots of problems. i play a lot and the only time i have been kicked is just after the big update/patch thingy. and the second time was when NTL system went down in Leeds (UK) but that no-ones fault but NTL. i dont even seem to see exploit or bugs. am i doing something wrong? i see a bit of lag every now and again but i have 2 pc's and a mac on my internet connection and am doing downloads and stuff at the same time so i do not even have a problem with that.
Keep up the Good work CCP.

Everyone doesn't have lots of problems, just that no one really goes to post: "Hey CCP, it's working again, I logged in without a problem and gameplay is smooth". But when the opposite occurs people post. I rarely have problems myself but every time I post that I get lynched so I tend to avoid it.

They tried it with the gallente at first, but if they hadn't changed it to the minmatar they would never have gotten past the beta phase.
