Last time I checked, Caldari capital ships were good for spinning in station. Amarr was the way to go I was told. Right now I'm capable of flying both, but wonder if there are payoffs to go Level 5 on the main dreadnought skills for either one. And also if it is wise to spend time on L5 for the weapons on each dreadnought, e.g.: Capital Energy Turret or Citadel Torpedos.

leave your dread in station unless you want it blown up by a roaming suppercap gang
carriers still have a use but dreads are only of use in siege and then they are an easy gank target for a suppercap fleet

Honestly, the way SCs are these days, it doesn't matter if its shield or armour. If SCs land you are dead.

What I'm sensing is that training up for Super Carrier, motherships (whatever they are called these days), may be a way to go. Not sure what the endgame is for EVE and its ships.

Nope, amarr is still the way to go with capitals, but training dreadnought is rather pointless now that they die really easy to supercaps. If you can afford it train and get into an Aeon, SCs are the new dreads, and good SCs are Nyx and Aeon |

Originally by: CCP Greyscale Yeah, supercarriers in particular just flat-out need a nerf, I think this is obvious to everyone. We'll give plenty of warning, but don't be surprised when it happens

The only place that Dreds have a major role is wormhole space. If your going to go that route, fly Amarr
