Sigh people taking up space with their useless replies.....
Deadspace was deliberately designed this way.I guess they thought it would be a nice idea for players to travel,say,200+ km im a slow BS everytime they had to warp out.
I dont know why,but they evidently did.

Lol yeah, my BS goes 110m/s
Not cool when gates are 30-60 run from jump in, and you gotta go 4 times.
As for the retards posting, learn to read, or dont write.
Its not that hes not capable of doing it, but it takes a bloody year to fly in a slow ship.
Shut up, and get out.

I kindof agree, but i like the Guristas Extravaganza approach that every warp lands you on top of the next gate. I can live with that.

Fit a T2 AB, my Raven gets up to ~360m/s with the AB II. It helps out a lot on the long path to some of the gates. Spelling corrections welcome, but don't expect me to edit my post. |

I'll agree to this, maybe change the warp landing spot once all the npc's are dead on each stage?

Lord Anubis, sorry for my earlier post... I was in a horrible mood...
just wanna give a suggestion, maybe it'll help...
if you know you're gonna run short on ammo, why not recruit a newbie to loot gather for you? He'd be in a hauler, on the warpgate behind you, and would carry say 1000 torps for you...
when you run low on ammo, finish the spawn, tell him to warp in and jettison the torps for you...
in a busy system, many newer players will be up to this type of job. Maybe propose them to keep all the loot on the first time they work with you... then later, have them trade you all their loot and buy it up for a fair price... you'll still get almost all the bounties...
any noob who can use an indy, nanofibers and an afterburner will be able to do the job, and will be more than happy to make 5m a mission...
plus, once you work with them a couple times, they become great recruits
of course you have to watch out when deadspace areas respawn, then it become impossible for an indy to survive... make sure you inform the new player that this may happen...
again, sorry for my snooting earlier... it was meant half as a joke, but I guess it definetly didn't come across as such...

It's always good to have a wingman with you on lvl 4 missions, especially if they are in a high-damage, large-cargo frigate, or ideally, a HAC. Just remember to stress that the wingman must never enter an area or aggro before the main battleship tank. Swift death will follow.

Edited by: Hera III on 14/02/2005 14:06:35 HAC/LOG pilot here,
Sadly I've been playing for quite some time and have been very lazy in leveling up to LVL4. But for grins I called on a buddy of mine, Thomdril Merlin, to check out these lvl4's before I do get to that level.
The strat of using a HAC or a Logistics ship as a loot hauler/backup gunner, works EXTREMELY well.
HAC (or even a well fitted cruiser) IS faster than a hauler and can be fitted with expanders to haul large amounts easily.
Hi-slots can be fitted with shield / armor repairers and haul ammo for the BS's.
The comment of making sure the HAC(or cruiser)does not warp in first is a valid one. Even though the primary focus was on Thom (mission pilot) piloting the Raven, I was fired upon even after he had warped in. I was in no way the center of attention, but be forewarned if you fire you will be fired upon as well.
HACs and LOGs are much more survivable/and can tank up as much as a BS and move faster than a BS or a Hauler. Frigates are faster but can't haul as much and wouldn't give the mission pilot very much support.
You would ask however why would someone who can pilot/play the scavenger role in a T2 cruiser & want to do this? Simple, experience and comradre. (plus loot/kill bonus)
Highly recommend using these T2 Cruisers for what they were designed for

I just don't have this problem, for some reason. Might be that I've set the default warp in range to 15km. Also, when you just start the mission, select the first warp point, then ctrl-shift before you go to stop your ship. Select the point a second time and away you go! Should land right on top of the beacon, which is usually within activation range of the jump gate. :D
Also takes about two minutes after the first time you select warp to first jump gate, to figure out where to set an insta-bookmark back to base.
