Son, you haven't even been in the game long enough to be called a vet. Come back when you have enough SP to fly a capital ship. I can understand how getting fist ****ed in your iteron can make you bitter, but that doesn't make you a vet.

Actually it's pretty acurate. It's a company which has the capactiy to destroy whole swaths of their customers computers in simple patches. It's a company who took 6+ years to develope WiS because they listened to a couple arm cutting 'hardcore' noobs on the forums who wanted things likeFW and incursion first.
It is a company which had great success don't get me wrong but which seemd to plateu far below many people's hopes and expectations.
There's a love/hate relationship between the bitter vet and CCP. Like an abused wife, the bitter vet knows CCP is extremely flawed and know what they're capable of but keep coming back

I don't know a whole lot of people who actually WANT wis. Incursions and FW were both flops to varying degrees, but WIS will be no different, because at the end of the day it's still CCP we're talking about.
If I were to summarize CCP in a single sentance, it would be this: Fantastic ideas ruined by horrible implementation.
They come up with something cool, then either release it completely useless, or broken, and then refuse to fix it, because by their own words "New features sell better than polished ones." |

Real Vets know better than to complain about something that works most of the time, grumble yes but never bitter. anyway there is a lot of stuff to do in life, summer soon, or not for the southern few.
I agree with OP n00bs rage is normal, its part of the learning experience of doing something new. Of Mordor

You guys have it easy, back when I was a noob we had to crawl the last 15km to the gate to jump and crawl 15km away from the gate to warp. Something about a drunk dev who confused JGs with WDFs in the DB or some dumb-assed thing.
Oh yea, and avoid mines while doing it, on Sunday.

What is your major malfunction?
People who wanted more spaceships content are noobs compared to the people who want space barbies?
WiS/Incarna will be abandoned just like sov/FW/incursions/T3/wormholes/etc and CCP will be off working on the new shiny and WoD instead of iterating their already released content.

Veteran is state of mind kid, not a number under you belt. Unfortunately first you have to have a mind to understand it. Come back when you aren't displaying your general ignorance about gaming in general.

No, it has to directly do with experience over time. In gaming unless you have been around for a significant amount of the games time you aren't a vet.
You can be bitter/jaded/etc but that doesn't make you a vet. Bittervet came about because all EvE vets are bitter about something but keep coming back.

Who logs into a video game to be mature? I can do that 60 hours a week at work. Young at heart my friend. I also like jokes about midgets, hookers, and alcoholism.

No, as I said it is a number. You need to get experience OVER TIME. You by definition can not be a veteran without the investment of time. You can be experienced without the investment of time but not a veteran.

Wouldn't a better response be a Bitter NOOB ?
Veteran implies knowledge and hopefully a little wisdom. As a Vet you would think they would know the deal on how the game works, and the company that makes it.
When someone rage quits or starts ranting and raving on the forums about how something isn't fair blah blah blah they really are acting like a NOOB. Let alone I think a fair amount of time when this canned response is used you are actually calling a NOOB a Vet which is elevating them unnecessarily. Granted Bitter Vet is a coined term but in most cases it just doesn't apply.
Most of the 'Bitter Vet' Types are the people who play the full spectrum of the eve-o experience. They are the ones that empire build in nullsec, and put great effort into maintaining large empires and fleets. Eventually this becomes a second job. Along the way CCP may change or break pieces of the empire, or in the worst case... outright cheat with insider info and dev tool item spawns.
They are bitter because they have wandered far enough to see the dark side of CCP, something that guys that spend 6 years in empire care bearing rarely see. They are the kind of people that aren't afraid to take risk or speak their minds. Plenty of care bear types are content to sit on their nuts in safety farming ****. That kind of person doesn't have the spine or initiative to break out of the kiddie pool, so they are content sitting there with their floaties on in 3ft of water. Fanbois will be fanbois, and the aggressive cowboys will be as they are.
Some people expect greatness, others are content with mediocrity. The personality type that goes out and makes empire and kills thousands along the way, they aren't the type to wait for god in a pasture.
