I understand that now. At the time, I wasn't aware of the GTC mechanic. It's cool and I'll use it. When this incident occurred, I was in a chemically altered state and was rewarding myself by buying a nice new character.

Again, you have misread. I bought 2 characters. My main 7m SP was sitting cooking skills while I used the purchased characters to rat sanctums and run 10/10 plexes. The other purchased character was an indy who I had a nice little business going building freighters for sale.
As far as "learning how to play the game", this is an argument put forth in every single MMO out there - and is vacant. Coming into an 8 year old game, who in their right mind would skill up for years until being able to play the game how they wanted?
Me! you sound like the sort of person that would take a Motorcycle test on a moped then go out and buy a Blackbird.. in short an "Organ Donor" same applies here, you seem to think you can buy a starter toon and go direct to flying a carrier.. , and even i know you don`t purchase RLM in an MMO.
