Not sure if these are mac specific but within 5 min of logging in, 3 bugs.
1) Bookmarks are not showing in the right position on the map. this means re-scanning a bookmark is not possible.
2) My Loki flies backwards
3) Clicking on the word 'probe' when probing usually centers the screen around that, its buggged for me no centering going on.

no info for the rest
edit: 3 confirmed. may be intentional or may be a bug, we'll see what happens. annoying, but I can live with it. -- And then there's of course the thing with it getting FPS even slower than the character creator, heating up video cards, taking a noticeable time to fully load ... |

I got this shiny light beside my certificate tab: http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/6933/certificates.jpg I fulfilled the requirements of a certificate during downtime.
The shiny moved with the window if I dragged it around, it did not seem to be linked to the background. Finally the the shiny vanished when I clicked the Certificate tab and has not reappeared yet.

These are not Mac-specific issues.
Although for the cert shiny, does that only happen to you in station?

I can't reproduce it easily since I am not close to a new certificate at the moment. :/
The shiny was only visible until the moment I clicked the Certification tab on the character sheet the first time.
I was in a station when it was visible and I did not undock while it was shiny.
Edit: Running Mac OS X 10.6.7 on a Mac [email protected], 4 GB RAM and a retail Radeon 5870 1GB.

Other than the general bugs people have reported across the client base - this update is working sweet as a nut. It actually seems to run better under this latest version.
The UI is much more responsive .. I'm well chuffed
Oh .. I just had a CTD! Bah!

But after log-in screen and character selection, I see the progress bar and even the "new mail" update window, but nothing else... just black screen. I can ESC to the ESC window but that's it. Stuck on the Entering Station progress bar.

Getting variable framerates on my Mac Pro
Model Name:Mac Pro Model Identifier:MacPro3,1 Processor Name:Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processor Speed:2.8 GHz Number Of Processors:2 Total Number Of Cores:8 NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT:
running 10.6.7
I use interval 1 so fps should be pretty much pegged at 60 fps in station. I usually run 2 clients and I'm seeing the FPS drop by at least 20fps for minutes at a time.
I've also found that if I cover the eve window entirely the fan on the video card starts to go faster ... this is more noticable with 2 clients running and both of them covered.

I'm just noticing that I'm experiencing significantly more UI lag than I was last night when I logged out. It may be that I'm using a machine closer towards the low-end of the system requirements, but all my Windows-running buddies are talking about the UI feeling snappier, while my UI has definitely gotten considerably less snappy since the patch.
Other than that (and the backwards T3s, cleared my cache, fixed), it's been working alright. In ur engineering, fixin' ur warp core. |

Client crashing at login screen without any action. Was able to install patch, and the client update. But cannot finish typing my password before a CTD. Also, one crash brought me the "GSOD" (gray screen of death?) and had to hard reboot my mac. When does THAT ever happen?

Hot keys broken.
Can't activate on a highlighted overview item, e.g target hot key doesn't target highlighted ship in overview. Only way to target is mouse clickfest = way slow and physically annoying. Also arrow keys don't move selection bar in overview.
1 crash after 'get market details' on item in my station items. Same as noted above.
Contracts window always opens with full transparency if opened first, have to open something else from neocom to get a non-seethrough window, then have to add Contracts window to stack, then transparency ok.
Clear caches, made no difference. |

Edited by: Templar Knightsbane on 01/06/2011 12:21:28 When i logged in today the 1.6 patch re-installed, but just took the same data as i downloaded and used that, do i need to delete the 1.6 patch and re-download it again? (im still gettin a full system freeze and having to power reboot)
Or am i gonna log on here to see that the mac issues are not put down as KNOWN issues (unlike the bugs affecting pc's which are nicely documented for windows users)???
Am i again going to suffer for being the user of a superior system???
My mac never needs a power boot... Not until this patch!!!
Whats goin on??? When will it be fixed... All i want is some communication on this problem ty

Mac Pro, 2.66 Quad Core, 8 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 120, OS X 10.6.7
I logged several hours of game play with no crashes or disconnects. The UI feels a bit quicker but otherwise speed seems about the same. I'm not getting any unusual lag. My bookmark to my starbase lands my right on top of it. Tested my approach, orbit and dock keyboard shortcuts on my tower and it worked fine.
So far I haven't seen anything different from what the Windows users are experiencing. |

OS X needs about 2GB of RAM to really run smoothly. Snow Leopard is also a highly recommended update, especially for graphics. They cleaned up a lot of stuff under the hood. Is there a reason you haven't upgraded yet? |

yes 2 reasons i havent updated yet
1 is all the things i run, run perfectly (including eve untill patch 1.6) and 2 is why would i need to upgrade if everything works perfectly????
if CCP have changed the basic requirements for eve client to run, then they should tell me, untill then, i have the minimum requirements set out on the CCP min requirements page... I should not HAVE to upgrade for eve. I pay my subs. CPP needs to correspond as to whether it is my setup, and if it is, i suggest they change the minumum requirements...

Things may run perfectly but after updating they may run more perfectly.
Seriously, the Snow Leopard had a lot of optimizations. CCP may not have changed system requirements but you might find things running better with an upgrade. Apple's system updates tend to improve things, not make them worse. Plus, the update is really cheap. |

And to be honest, before this patch, i was able to run 2 clients similateneuosly, so pls dont go bashing me and my mac coz i dont have more than 1mb ram which was perefectly fine, 2 days ago...

Had the same yesterday already. Recognized it to be a new type of bug as it didn't happen before. Didn't report it.

I don't mean to bash. There is enough hostility in these forums. The comment about available RAM is just my experience with OS X since the Beta days. 2GB seemed to be the point where the OS would stop disk thrashing and settle down.
As for being able to run more than one client it varies for me from patch to patch. Honestly, I haven't tested running more than one due to lack of time since 1.6 came out. The week before I was running 4 at a time. Before that there were times I wouldn't run more than one due to performance issues, and that was with 8GB of RAM.
I do get the feeling that Transgaming is handling a lot of the tweaks. I'm not sure how much CCP is involved with day-to-day Mac development and testing. Last they mentioned their Macs were waiting for a volcano to stop so they could be flown in. |

yeah np man, didnt mean to bite, but i know i cant afford the upgrade atm as they are not the cheapest things to buy looking at something like ú300 to upgrade to some more ram and a graphics card, and some more for the OSX upgrade.
just wanted some sort of answer as to whether this is isolated problem to me, or whether is a mac bug that will be fixed, u know
some info on something other than the already known specs of my machine lol

Something else? How about this is built using Microsoft technology and even the Windows users are complaining of all sorts of issues with this patch. Don't bankrupt yourself with upgrades because there will be bug fixes coming soon. |
