Something else? How about this is built using Microsoft technology and even the Windows users are complaining of all sorts of issues with this patch. Don't bankrupt yourself with upgrades because there will be bug fixes coming soon.
yeah true mate, well, imma try and get 10.6 anyway as is needed as u say, and sur will have other benefits (like evemactools), so, i will try and get my hands on a copy and see if makes any better,
i hopes this is fixed, but, im not sure as they have listed all the bugs on another thread, but not listed the crash problems i am experiencing and seen a couple more with it as a known problem, which left me sorta worried they just not even paying attention to the mac users,
its having to put COD on all morning that has made me overly aggresive im sure lol
FIX EVE B4 I KILL SOMEONE!
lol thanks for tryin help anyway dude appreciated

My eve has slowed down incredibly since patch, not crashing but very slow.
Anyone any ideas??
I think they may have pulled a stealth change in minimum system requirements. I'm having the same issue on my macBook pro, in space I'm now getting 10-15fps and while in station I get 4-6fps! Everything was fine and dandy before the last patch (last two really), but now it takes several seconds to even open any window, let alone trying to actually fly in combat. It's like my client has permanent lag. I have had a bug report out on it since 10 days ago when this first started but the game was at least playable, and the lack of response leads me to think our systems may have just been abandoned.
I know they where changing something to do with the shader support that would effect some macs from another thread, but since I'm just a computer user, and not a programer I have no idea (or care really) what that means for our systems.
It would be nice if CCP would just come out and say that "X-y" Macs will no longer be able to run eve, or still should be able to run it after this patch!

well i have asked in the main 1.6 issues thread to see if we can get an answer as to whether the minimum system requirements have changed with this patch
24 hours i've been tryin to get some sort of info from CCP on this subject, any response from any blue would be appreciated, even if its sayin, we dont know,
least u could let me know so im not hitting these forums up all the time looking to see if CCP have bothered to reply yet.
Its not on imho i wouldnt take this treatment from a game shop that sold me a game that didnt work u know, so why i have to suffer the silent treatment for a game i HAVE and AM paying for, i really dont know. CCP going downhill fast in my estimation

Thank God it's not just me. Since this latest patch my frame rate has more than halved. Out of station I'm lucky to get 12-13fps. Executing any command also takes a few seconds to run through. Navigational icons will also disappear after being selected once - you can still click on them but they are no longer visible. Ok, so my iMac is getting on a bit but it was coping fine before now. Would be good to now if the minimum system requirements have changed or if it's just a screw up.....
At the moment EVE is unplayable - can't fight any battles if you are at 14fps and your opponent is at 30+fps. Click - wait - fire. Too slow to respond - you die.

Im getting the same with loki flying backwards
But also most annoyingly is the Brackets always hide for fleet so i have to click "show brackets" everytime i jump through a gate. But does it only for fleet members ive notice and other stuff on overview i.e. asteroid fields, gate guns, planets.

I am running a macbook pro 17 inch - 2.8 ghz i7 dual core hyper-threaded, 8gigs ram, Nvidia 330m and i am having this same issue, client runs fine till about 5mins after startup slows down till its unplayable. A restart fixes this issue temporarily but it always comes back. I have cleared my cache twice now. Hope this helps a little

Running Mac OSX 10.6.6
Client crashes when I look at Assets, keep multiple windows open or view Market Details.
I get this error: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x2f370000 at address 0x75f9222d. Do you wish to debug it?
Pressed yes, got a black screen for a couple of minutes and I could still hear the game sounds. I had to reboot computer. Pressed no, client closes.
Tried to log back in 3 times consecutively (with different accounts) and have gotten the same problem. |

Running Mac OS X 10.6.7 on a Mac Book Pro 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. Have similar issues here as well. Since Patch 1.6 I've had a total so far of 54 crashes of my EVE Client. Right before the servers just went down I had 8 crashes in less than 1 hour barely a play session as spent it recovering from every crash.
Every single crash so far all 54 of then have been attributed to doing one particular set of thing "attempting to open a Market Details Window by clicking on a item link, clicking on any blueprint item and trying to open the Market Details Window, opening Assets and trying to view Market Details of item, and most especially clicking on Orders screen either from on the Market Window or from Wallet Order Window trying to access the market to update trade orders. Doing any of those will result in a random crash and very frequently. Sometime the entire client just suddenly freezes with the music playing in repetitive loop it seems and then have to do a hard reboot to recover.
Even worse after going through repeated crashes and quite often some reboots from a total lockup of the eve client I get the "Black Screen" on attempted login with the sound playing in background but cant see anything at login screen. Sometime multiple Black Screen several times in a row having to force the client to close EVE.
Its annoying enough having so many crashes now since patch 1.6 but compounded by the fact after crash you then face randomly with the black screen on login and have to keep forcing the client to quit every time till get a actually log in screen that can use. There is enough people reporting these issues in the game and on the forum that that its not a anomaly by just any one person. CCP needs to address these issues.

well, at least CCP have stopped answering everyone on this subject now, makes me feel a whole lot bta, thanks CCP
imo there is only 2 reasons CCP havent bumped any of these threads
1. They dont know the answer 2. They know the community isnt gonna like the answer
but, seen as tho we pay for your jobs CCP, i think we deserve some sort of communication...
As another thread aptly named puts it.

Well since CCP is being so helpful (really guys, some of us are just asking for some basic info here!), lets see if we can't figure out if they changed the basic system reqs.
I'm on a macbook pro, with a 2.16 Intel Core Duo with the x1600, everything ran fine before the last patch, now I have no crashes, but the frame rate is too low to play. 7-15fps in space, and strangely 2-5fps sitting in station. OS 10.5.8 (don't ask, RL pain in the butt client)
So is anyone with either the Intel Core Duo, and or the ATI Radeon X1600 card able to run eve after the patch? I see a few others haven't regardless of the OS they are on.

I have the same laptop as you and pre patch was very playable. Post patch it is horrible. I think it has to do more with the 2GB ram max more than anything. The hard drive goes ape**** when I play.

Thought I'd add both my machines for comparison.
Mac Pro, 2.66 Quad Core, 8GB, NVIDIA GT 120, OS X 10.6.7 = consistent 30 FPS in station and out.
MacBook Pro, 2.26 Core Duo, 4GB, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, OS X 10.6.7 = average 15 FPS in station and out. FPS varies a lot more on the laptop.
I keep all graphics on high on both machines with AA, HDR, and Depth Effects turned off. I haven't crashed once since Incursion 1.6 but my schedule has kept me docked a little more than usual this week. I also haven't been running more than one client very much either. |

ok, so i have upgraded from 10.5.8 to 10.6.7, and i am not experiencing crashing, but, i am experiencing what seems like lag, but constant all the time, slowness to respond. So, i will be upgrading my meagre memory ina couple of days, and if that solves it, well i'd say the minumum mac requirements have increased, for the moment at least. Anyhows, glad it doesnt crash and i can at least keep my skills in order whilst i wait.
MacPro 2.66Dual 1gb ram nvidia 7300GT 256mg 10.6.7
Slowness of game in general. Not looked at planets as known bug. MArket seemed fine just again slow. Will post again when i have upgraded my memory until then, eve is unplayable. I will also upgrade in graphics at some point in time for incarna anyway. Meh, i can log now at least some info would be good tho, like, what graphics card CCP reccomend me to get is it the same as before if the min requirments hve changed?

Templar, if possible, upgrade that RAM. I'm quite surprised you've managed to make it this far on 1Gb of RAM, even in daily use (testament to the Macs superior memory use). Pushing up to 2, 3, or 4 would solve quite a few problems.
That said, I'm running a 2.6GHz i5 quadcore w/ 12Gb RAM and 1Gb ATI Radeon, and the mac runs so hot, it's almost dangerous to touch. CCP messed something up bad in this expack.

Edited by: Captain Jack Aubrey on 03/06/2011 09:09:16 Sorry i can't add any solutions with this post, instead all i can add is one more voice to the growing number of people who pre-patch ran the game fine, but post-patch are left with a ridiculously slow and unresponsive game. Fighting in-game is very difficult now, but then so is any other mundane task such as opening an information box.
Really disappointed as im fairly new to this game and was really starting to get into it. Hope we get an answer soon.
FYI i'm running on an iMac 20" 2GHz Intel, 2GB RAM and OSX Leopard 10.6.7

Software is allowed to use 100%. Hot running is not a bug nor a design flaw.

I'm getting a ton of crashes after the initial 1.6 update. Client flashes to desktop with an error 'Buffer Overun' every 10-15 minutes. This was not happening prior to patching.
Specs:
MacPro 2011 Desktop, specs are pretty much maxed out (Video editing monster) and OS is up to date. Any ideas?

Since the patch, when i log on after downtime and it asks me to install the new update, i have had to re-download the entire Tranq client.... EVERYDAY!!!!!!! My computer becomes unresponsive and wont allow me to click "Yes" to install the update. So i must install the entire client over and over. This is a bit much guys, seriously!!!!!! Sunt Zu |

Possibly Mac-specific: Fixed Window mode is gone, only useless Windowed is still present. This sucks since Eve is frequently crashing when AP jumping while tabbed out of fullscreen mode.

yeah thanks i am tryin to get some upgrade in the mail to me as we speak for the memory
tho i'm a bit unsure of which is gonna be a good middle of the road graphics card to purchase, i have prob ú80-ú100 uk pounds to spend on the graphics card max and thats pushing it. one that can support the incarna and for a couple of years would be awesome after, i dont need to have a graphics card that can launch me to space, just one that puts space on my screen, and the character editor etc lol:)

When software uses a 512Mb GPU on a quadcore machine w/ 12Gb of RAM (with settings at "medium" and most extra effects turned off) and the GPU gets within 10% of the point where it will shut down to preserve the hardware, this is most certainly indication of a bug or design flaw.

Now this doesn't even work!! I just downloaded the full client, but when i launch it, it still asks for an update, which cause's my computer to freeze. As of this point, im un-able to play EvE.
On the very first login today after downloading the Patch I got the Update Client Screen and behind the Screen was the "Black Screen" of death, it was obvious. Could not even click ok on the client update to update the client as it would not even accept ok no matter how many times clicked it. Attempted to force client to close, it wouldnt even close. Had to do a hard reboot of my PC. Hate having to hard reboot my PC.
2nd attempt got the normal loging screen with the client update popup and all went fine in downloading and eventually loggin in after. However it quickly went down hill after that. As it became quickly evident that as the update today didn't fix my crashing problem which randomly occure every time i click "View Market Details" trying to update my trade orders. Since Patch 1.6 as of yesterday had a total of 70+ crashes and just stopped counting. Would of been better to quit counting after the first 5 crashes.
Within 15 minutes today of loggin in after the patch the client had suddently crashed 8 times clicking on "View Market Details" trying to update trade orders. Had 3 crashes in less than 5 minutes and 3 of the crashes the client just froze up solid and had to do a hard reboot of my PC. All occuring in about 15 minutes span of time. Thats clearly not very playable and had none of these issues before Patch 1.6 was deployed whatsoever. Other than being annoyed on loging before patch 1.6 with the random Black Screen on login the game ran fine without issues.
I've had issues before on patches with clicking on PI in space would suddenly crash the client, Warp jumping thru Stargate or after the stargate jump the client would suddenly crash those was clearly quite annoying and eventually they were fixed weeks later just as suddenly. But this latest round of bugs is clearly damn annoying beyond belief because i can hardly do any Production or Trade function without having to View Market Details on any item that will almost in less than 1/10 chances result in a sudden crash/client Lockup and have to hard reboot. Annoying beyond belief!
