Hi there, I am quite new to DED problematic. Can someone explain me how it works in high sec?
I have found many DED places, but never managed to enter 2nd room. I always need some kind of key or card and I have no idea where to get one.
For example: Pith-Robux Asteroid Mining Co. - There is always lot of ships to shoot, but once I am done with them, nothing happens. I see red overseers container, but when I open it, there is nothing in it.
or
Pith deadspace depot - There are 6 missile turrets and no ships. I shoot all turrets but nothing happens. I cant enter second pocket.
Does it appear only once for the 1st player who clears the pocket? Or am I doing something wrong?

Almost every High-Sec static is farmed by bots. Don't bother.

I'm also quite interested as to what the key drops for each of those Pith-Robux Asteroid Mining Co and Pith deadspace depot's are. I know an overseer frigate drops the key for the Pith deadspace depot, but I've only ever seen an empty red can for the Pith-Robux Asteroid Mining Co.

Edited by: VIP Ares on 03/06/2011 11:41:22 Short story. Those plexes are farmed 24/7 by more experienced players then you.
Long story. Every complex has some kind of "key" dropper in first room, be it named rat, or a building. On default settings, building icon should be "visible" in universe.
If you really want to see how it looks, your best bet is to enter first room just before downtime. After downtime, those complexes reset. And then spam log-in button to be first who will log in, which will let you loot the key for second room and lead you to possible dead-space loot :)

The ones in low sec are not farmed as much.
You may have better luck there.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend it. Lowsec statics may not be farmed in the traditional sense, but they're huge, bright beacons of pew to the pirates in the area.

Now a little more details from first hand experience.
The first time you do the login spam after downtime you will usually see other folks who do the same(almost every high sec location of Pith 2/10 DED is camped in this way), from then on its a race to who kills the "key" dropper rat first(usually a overseer firgate/ named NPC for pith 2/10). So people usually use a long range insta-hitting ship, like Harpy with railguns, then MWD to the wreck and loot the key from it. Other tactic to compete with other players can be to use a PvP fit Dramiel and loot the wreck by reach their first, if the other person whoose wreck(the NPC frigate) gets looted engages you you get an almost free kill (he will have long range guns so low damage). Sometimes the experienced harpy players will shoot the wreck if they see anyone faster than them going towards the wreck to loot.
After the downtime usually all 2/10 pith ded plexes get farmed for their keys almost instantly. You might have to spend sometime in finding a high sec system where in there are less people farming and then you will have a higher chance of getting the key after downtime.
Other than that I think the re-spawn timer for the overseer frigate(the one that drops pith-b type stuff) in the last room of pith 2/10 ded plex is around 2.5 to 3 hrs (not sure though). There are rumors that if there is someone camping the last room the overseer does not spawn or take much longer to spawn.
overall its tough to go after the 2/10 plexes due to too much competition and also even if you succeed in getting to the last room, the overseer frigate may not spawn(although its guaranteed to spawn the first time after downtime) so you might have to wait for hours before it spawns again(i have once waited for around 3 hrs before the overseer frigate in the last room spawned). And on the top of this there is a high chance that you might not get anything The best I got once was both Pith b-type small shield booster and a worm bpc.
for other plexes pith 1/10 : usually less camped and can be completed quickly, gives a chance of getting pith c type loot and faction frigate bpc gistii 2/10 : usually camped in the last room, wherein blowing up the structure can drop gistii b type stuff and dramiel bpc. The structure respawns after a fixed(i think this is now 90 minutes, used to be 30 minutes a few years back) interval so people just camp the last room. This can result in interesting PvP opportunities. I once killed a jaguar in my pvp fit vengeance. centii 1/10 : there are a bunch of these in a tightly packed route, so people run them quickly going from one system to other. This one is pretty interesting as several people a running them so it becomes a race on who gets to the next system first. Also the first rat in the plex drops the key. The structure in the end drops various centii-c type stuff + succubus bpc + true sansha mods.
This is all I know about these ded plexes. They are fun to run once in a while, especially the gistii 2/10 and the centii 1/10 ones.
Edit : Also don't bother with low sec static plexes, unless you have a proper pvp fit frigate/destroyer. Expect to get ganked in them if you fly solo.
