1. The Average. Equips his ship mostly with tech 1 stuff, maybe some of the cheaper tech 2 items (power diags, etc). It won't cost more than 50 million to replace his insured battleship. He might toss on a few rarer items--but only if he's looted them himself. He doesn't want to have to worry about being screwed over if he dies. I, and most PvPers, would probably fall into this category.
2. Teh Pwn. Equips his ship mostly with top looted or tech 2/officer stuff. It could cost this guy over a billion to replace his battleship. And when he loses it, if he's a whiner, he might even quit EVE in anger. But he'll probably do a lot more damage than number 1.
3. The Runner. Equips his ship with a setup that probably won't kill anything its own size, only something smaller. I.e. as many warp core stabs as he can fit. He rarely gets in any BS kills, but kills many smaller ships and lots of indies.
Which one are you? -- The best description of alliances, ever:

Abit of 1 and 3. It all depends. I dont use stabs when in a gang but when roaming alone looking for trouble its always nice to have the abilaty to warp away if you are heavily out numbered.
I dont have the scrilla to equip only named stuff, but ill get there with time.

I calculate what I need to get the job done, then I use it. It might be all tech1, tech2 or uber loot; but never more than I think is needed to get the job done.
If I lose it all in a freakish miscalculation (er... actually they aren't all that freakish :/), then I just factor what happened in to my next set of calculations.
I sometimes end up with some very odd set-ups, but they are all usually quite fun ... and there is no harm in being different. ______________________________________________
Never argue with idiots. They will just drag it down to their level, and then beat you through experience. |

Mix between 1 and 2 on both characters, but i dont throw a fit when I blow up, it comes with the playing style and as long as I kill more then get killed I'm happy
This is not a hijack

If I am going to fight, I am a solid 1 (1.2 maybe)
If I am traveling, mining, etc, I am a solid 3.

Probably your right most hard core pvpers would fall into 1. Provided they are the type who make a living from pvp and dont have a minning alt

I'm absolutely number 1... cept I avoid fights carefully because those tech 1 things tend to cost plenty anyways :) ---

I fit no.2 when solo and what ever is needed when hunting with my corp. I also never get ****ed off when loosing a ship, unless its to a bug

I'm usually between number 1 and 2. I don't complain when I lose ships. Whenever I go looking for trouble, I expect to lose whatever I'm flying. It's fun to jump into a fight, knowing you're the underdog. If you lose, then "oh well", but if you win, there's no better feeling

since im usually the only person on in my corp (damn hawaii time) i usually go number 3 and do hit and runs againt campers. but when the corps on it's definately 1.7.
it also depends on the ship ive got under me. some ships are great with tech 1 stuff others need tech 2 stuff to still be less than others. Director, Divine Retribution

depends on the situation. #2 if im flying alone or in a small group. #1 if im in fleet combat (since in fleet combat im usually in a scorp and as a result one of the first targets for the enemy fleet), and sometimes #3 if I want to avoid a fight at all costs (like if someones paying me a bunch of isk to safely haul a bunch of valuables for them from point A to point B).

5. tactician - cold calculating you lure the defenders away circle back kill the hauler then pick the defenders off 1 by 1 as they struggle to regroupe This type ussually relise on a cloaking device or multible safespots to avoid being ganked and when his prey split and search in vain to find him he strikes killing each one seperatly -----------------------
