Not in PvP, the ship type name can be altered, the only ship type I can think of at the moment that can't be altered is the shape of the symbol which varies in size depending on what class of ship it is.

You can change your ship NAME but no one has that on overview. Please teach me how you can change your ship TYPE on overview
I don't think I'm special, I just get sick of explaining simple concepts that should be obvious.
Strange I mostly considered your posts trolling.
Anyway, I've now checked it out ingame (first time in space for about 2 months). As far as I can see your own ship no longer appears in the overview which means you can no longer change the name, the old ship name (type of ship) used to be part of the name. The new overview allows you to turn off types of ship in the overview. Probably altered when they last overhauled the overview.

Whatever, keep flying around calling targets by ship type. Your probably in a huge enough blob that response time to primary call doesn't matter anyway.

The MT ships need better armor or t2 resists. Asshats like the ones in this thread will use the new ships as an escape goat.
