Vanity items should not have an affect on PVP.

These new ships should only have different names in show info... In the overview their should be nothing but (in this case) scorpion. This is in CCP's best interest as far more people will pay for paint jobs if its harder to spot and doesn't mean being instant primaried... you know other than being in a scorpion... Also Corp/Alliance decals should be isk items only, no AUR involved. you should only have to pay AUR for fancy full skin paint jobs. The problem is it is going to be more then vanity items. The One Universe/One War concept with Dust is going to bust the flood gates open for cash for advantage in Eve. CCP is going to make their money in Dust through the money store and the is going to have DUST have an impact on the Sov Mechanics in Eve... READ ME

Since CCP stated this Aurum store purchases would NOT have give people an edge it is quite simple for them to ensure it does not lead to a messy overview. We already covered how it is an issue. Try giving nice quick intel as a scout when half the ships are called Ishukone this or Nugovheni that rather than simply Vexor, Broadsword, Scorpion. Don't give me 'learn to broadcast', I know how to broadcast and that has nothing to do with it. I just hope they don't give these new skinned ships names that ruin the overview for intel purposes. I can't believe I have to repeat this ~~~

Either way these ships will generate so much hate past Hulkageddons will be nothing in comparison. Not like we needed any more reasons to gank Scorps to begin with. And CCP is going to screw up the names, but other than that it's going to be funny how many people will get one of these and never fly them outside, they wont even be able to spin the camera around them with the new forced CQs either. It may be a good idea reactivating my PvP account after all, so CCP's plan is working.

Not in PvP, the ship type name can be altered, the only ship type I can think of at the moment that can't be altered is the shape of the symbol which varies in size depending on what class of ship it is.

Strange I mostly considered your posts trolling. Anyway, I've now checked it out ingame (first time in space for about 2 months). As far as I can see your own ship no longer appears in the overview which means you can no longer change the name, the old ship name (type of ship) used to be part of the name. The new overview allows you to turn off types of ship in the overview. Probably altered when they last overhauled the overview.
