Cause we want more spaceships in our spaceship game and less fukn dress up dolls. And we have been saying it for years, but those @$$hats are not listening!

We don't really need more spaceships, though it'd be nice; I would much rather them perfect the existing ones and the relevant mechanics.

eve has always been a space simulation they wanted to have planet travel, station walking, atmospheric flight since the beginning but the technology has never been there, hence why they are now adding the new features as the tech gets to where it needed to be....
ccp has said that WIS will not be teabagging etc... or guns etc... the stations are for meetings, gambling, other devious acts.. its not a FPS... thats dust and thats on planets.

Right now Incarna is just stand around and admire yourself in a futuristic room.
In the future it will be much more. Face to face meetings with NPC agents, briefing DUST mercenaries about their next mission etc.
Your right, EVE is about internet spaceships, but there are people flying them. EVE still is about internet spaceships, and it will be that way due to the fact making EVE about anything else will not make it EVE.
Incarna gives a more human feel to EVE. Spaceships are cold and lifeless.

I bring this up because all of this new content worries me and I am curious to see if anyone feels the same way. It seems that instead of being concerned with the game itself, players and developers are much more interested in shiny easter eggs and addons that as I see it, add little to the actual substance of the game itself. The apparent rush to get all of this stuff out of the door only seems to compound it; it makes it appear as if this is less an attempt to enhance, broaden, and perfect the world that is Eve and more an attempt to squeeze more cash out of players and create a swarm of new accounts.
I am not saying that CCP shouldn't be adding these things at all, simply that there are alot of other things that I believe would be a better use of their time. In other words, don't start another project until you've finished the first. There are lots of things that need work and need to be fixed throughout Eve as it is (we're still swimming around in laggy space themed submarines ffs) , and rushing to bring out new content just seems to me like trying to distract the public's gaze from the existing flaws.
Eve is about internet spaceships, and that should be the first priority when it comes to enhancing the game , not drawing in the other MMO players for another wardrobe game, and not drawing in the console kiddies.
People used to say that Incarna would come out when Duke Nukem Forever comes out. What's the galaxy coming to?
I somewhat agree. Im not playing EVE because i enjoy FPS mechanics and want to play dress up dolls.
CQ is elaborate, complex, all sorts of stuff. Imagine how much time/money/effort has been spent making it.
Why wasnt that time/money/effort spent make more EVE. i.e. internet spaceship stuff.
They have a massive expansion coming out to their spaceship game.... WITH NO NEW SPACESHIPS!>!>>!>!@?>!#?
Serious, was everyone playing EVE sitting around thinking "Geee, i wish EVE were an FPS with dress up dolls?"
When did CCP first mention that CQ/WIS was a direction they wanted to take the game? maybe 4 or 5 years ago (maybe longer). You must have missed all the CCP presentations, posts and promos.
Originally by: Korinne Again, I'm not trying to hate on the idea of Incarna, after all, we would all like to see the universe expand. I am trying to voice my opinion that I think taking on all these projects at once to the potential detriment of the primary Eve content worries me.
I wonder what sort of responses you would have recieved if your initial post was in the same vein as this post. Sometimes difficult when your passionate about the subject at hand.

I'm quite happy with the current spaceships (the one/two per expansion as bonus things is nice though). Though i kinda wish they'd do another Trinity patch (IIRC, no new spaceships... just lots and lots of pretty) instead of WiS until it's completely ready. HOWEVER, with that being said, I think the EVE-version of WiS should be a "requirement" to do certain things. Off the top of my head:
1. 'Clandestine' stuff (purchasing boosters, mercs, etc) that you don't want the SCC to catch wind of. In the case of boosters and other illegal stuffs, they'd be removed from the "normal" empire markets. 2. This one's more optional on our part -- when trying to "recruit" the DUST Mercs, they have the option to request a face-to-face meeting (rather than normal FTL comms).
Everything else (Aurum purchases, mirror, whatever) would all be optional (permanently) so that those of us who only want to be outside of our pod when it goes boom can stay that way.

I saw a dev post saying the patch notes are up to 6 pages. My guess the CQ stuff is just a few lines on those 6 pages. We are getting much more than CQ (which means they have been working on much more).

Originally by: Korinne I won't be quitting anytime soon. I've invested too much into the game...
There's your problem right there. You've invested nothing into Eve. You've paid a subscription fee, and you've played the game. You were supposed to be having fun in return for that fee. I'm sorry if you somehow missed this vital aspect of the transaction.
Tomorrow, Eve changes. It is entirely up to you to decide whether the new product that Eve becomes is something that you care to pay a subscription fee for. But please, please, please stop whining. If you decide that Eve is no longer something that interests you, you have lost nothing. Eve owes you nothing. You paid the fees, and should have been enjoying the game.
Here are your options:
1) Try Incarna, like it, and continue subscribing 2) Try Incarna, dislike it, and go away 3) Don't try Incarna, and go away

Or I can continue to think this is something that should be a secondary project for Eve, in your terminology to 'not like it', but continue to subscribe nonetheless.

I'm going to go out on a limb, after all my disappointment with what is on sisi, that the expansion is hiding a huge surprise for all of us. The hanger will be there. Blasters will have been fixed. etc etc. It's just going to be a huge surprise. And we will all eat our words and never doubt them again. LOL

And after logging into Incarna...well...not for me. Which is kind of funny. Way back when I first started playing Eve, the absence of a persona was definitely a sticking point (coming from WoW space), but I eventually embraced it as part of Eve. I was a quasi-immortal being that could move between metal bodies.
But now I'm out of the pod. Walking around in the cold air, stinking of flesh. Practically naked. How do I get sent to my medical clone in another system if some janitor puts a shiv in my kidney because he likes my new boots, and I bleed out in some hallway in a station? Isn't all of the fancy tech that does that inside the pod?
Some people will love Incarna and the direction it points to, and that is good, but I don't think I need it, despite all of your efforts. The game was clearly good enough for me to have stuck it out the past four years just being a ship on the screen.
All I ask, CCP, is to have a choice. A simple check-box in the graphics options that says "Pre-Incarna interface" will do just fine.
