Considering your naked in your pod, I'd say no.

Edited by: Vincent Athena on 21/06/2011 14:47:49 Somewhere I saw a dev say yes. All the clothes you were wearing when you undock are stored in the pod, and if the pod goes, so do your Aurum bought clothes.
Edit: The dev statement was made in response to a question "What will we wear when we dock at a station we have never been to and have no clothes at?" The reason CCP gave for them getting stored in the pod is so you got something to wear at whatever station you dock at next.

Would be counter productive to the whole concept of reducing PLEX through selling of vanity items.. Things need to be destroyed and replaced or else sooner or later everyone will have everything and the devs will be outta ideas to produce, or only really bad ones will remain.

Last time I was on SiSi, I podded myself and I still had my fancy clothes. But in other previous builds you did indeed loose your clothes.
Was this feature removed?

Of course you lose those items.
If you didn't, how would CCP profit? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Its stored in the pod's magic auto dresser that cleans and dresses you in just a few seconds while you dock. It works using nanites.

I can see two arguments going around at CCP:
1) Yes, aurum purchases should die with you. 2) How do we sustain our profit model if they lose/don't lose their cloths frequently?
If they do get destroyed when podded, I see lots of gank squads....especially if that stuff has a chance to drop.

Well I'd think you'd be clothed, you would get podded while clothed, your clothed body would float in space and your new clone would be nekked or the default you set up when creating it.
I'd also be inclined to think all jump clones can be clothed differently.

So, basically, unless you're a station-based alt it's not worth every buying clothing.

Its no worse than losing your implants. Many are flying about with over a billion isk in their heads. The clothes will not cost anywhere near that much. On sisi clothes were going for 1 Aur each, which at present PLEX prices is 120,000 ISK. Players doing secondary selling of clothes will most likely charge 200,000 or so, resulting in a full get-up costing maybe 1 to 2 million. Compared to all the other costs of losing your pod, that trivial.

Hmm... good point, if those prices hold similar. Still, you get podded and want to get back into action, you're not going to want to have to stop at The Gap first...

At the current exchange rates I've seen it's likely the store bought items of clothing will only cost around 100k - 200k each.
Personally I don't see many gank squads sweating it too much for that sort of drop.

On a related note, what about jumpclones? Will you need to maintain separate outfits for each clone, as you do with implant sets?

You¦re joking now. But wait when they introduce the actual station interiors this time next year. And you REALLY have to visit(slowly walk to) the "space gaps" people have to rent so they can sell their "rum" bought stuff. Called it here first!

Thanks for bringing this up. And I did chuckle at the great "killmail" above.
We finalized on the following characteristics: -clothing are destructible while in your cargo (like anything else) -clothing are not destroyed if podded while worn - you will wake up in your new clone wearing the same outfit -clothing does not travel with you if you take advantage of a jump clone - it remains in the previous station -items such as the eye implants or Amarr monocles which are installed in the body do NOT behave like implants but can be removed and put on again at will (or even resold.)
We believe these settings best serve both our current population as well as those players who come later and learn to play EVE Online without the benefit of a specific briefing on the new functionality.

Some things regarding clothing: 1) Clothing will be destroyed if you are podded. 2) All clothing is stored in your item hanger. 3) Only the set you take with you will be available wherever you go. 4) If you want clothing available at more than one station then you have to stock each one. 5) If your clone appears at a station where you don't have clothing you get a 'basic' set to wear.
Haven't read anywhere if clothing is transportable concidering it sits as an item in your hanger. Unless someone has seen otherwise?
