So you are offered a bounty to kill someone. You've tried to pvp them out in space but they keep running. you finally find what station they're docked at. You dock up and pull out a blaster pistol smuggled past concord.
One of the exotic dancers at the bar tips you off for some isk on which private game suite the target is playing eve poker in. you kick in the door and blast your mark dead, melting his implants and collecting your bounty. His gang starts to shoot back but you're already heading back to your ship and undocking... they give chase out in space. you kill their ships and head home.
True story?
personally I would love if this were possible.

Definately +1 I have already suggested breaking and entering Captain's quarters to steal information about fits and the like (although it was pointed out that you can get this from Battleclinic anyway). Escaped Gobbo from Warhammer |

lol, maybe not breaking into CQ, you need a place that is safe. but anywhere in station outside of CQ is fair game for getting shot.

yes and at some point you just know they're gonna leave their captains quarters and walk around station with their buddies. that's when you get the drop on em and collect the 90 million bounty for their head (for example).
could be quite exhilarating for bounty hunters and suspenseful for those with bounties on their head.

You realize what the OP suggested will never happen, right? That is what DUST was made for. _ _________ _ "You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view - until you climb into his skin and walk around in it." |

Would be stupid if that never happened; I thought CCP was anti carebear?
Think of it this way; you're at war, and see some war targets wondering the station....
"I can't wait till you undock so I can pew pew your face"
Pretty lame to me; I'd just shoot them in the face and run from the CC foot patrol. lol

totally different. In Incarna we will be able to walk around and play poker with other players and shop, and watch exotic dances (right?) and whatever else..
What I'm talking about is a bounty hit on an outlaw or war target. Anyone with guns in station will be shot by security so it will be incredibly risky to get involved in a shoot out. This way the focus in station will not be shooting, but it could happen for those who are marked.

Edited by: ALTOTHEIX on 21/06/2011 17:21:16 Also, another idea is if you are involved in a shoot out, and have aggression, you CANNOT access your captains quarters.. your only option is to possible die to station security or your enemies shooting back or undock, which could force a pvp battle out in space.
For all you incarna haters, this could force some people out of station.

It would be epic. But let's be realistic here; CCP haven't figured out how to implement a working bounty hunting mechanism out of a station let alone in one.

I wouldn't. We are gods when compared to normal captains that fly a battleship. We should be untouchable in stations because we are able to pay for that kind of protection.
so lets take a look at your story: you dock, go over to the bar that your target is at. then his 100,000 ISK body guards will stop you before you even fire a shot. or you are padded down at the door of the bar, and arrested for carrying an illegal fire arm (or told to leave your gun in the captain's quarters before entering). If you didn't want to be searched, you would have to pay a lot of money to the guards before you can even fire a shot. Depending on how loyal their body guards are.
Don't tell me if you wouldn't do the same with your multimillion ISK wallet. hiring body guards to protect you is considered chump change compared to you 100M ISK battleship. ---

I like this idea, but what annoys me about it is that Star trek online had walking in stations and allowed players go directly to personal combat directly from their ships. Eve online is the one that will most likely be the hello kitty in space stations because hand to hand combat is a different game and CCP doesn't want to mix characters from the PS3 network and the PC network.
I don't like STO I just hate that the whole thing is backwards even more. |

Edited by: Cpt Mooney on 21/06/2011 18:09:19 i totally like the idea that such "virtually untouchable" players can get their share of the spankin too. as long as concord will avenge them it is... ;o
this bodyguard idea is pretty cool tho. noone sayd it should be easy to murder someone, and eventually get away with it. ~~ granted the stations are large enough and you actually have to search for your victim.

I hear what you're saying but its a bit narrow minded. For example. I personally am an Outlaw and I have a bounty on my head. I would not walk around station unless I smuggled a weapon in, and I would be alert at all times because someone in that crowd around me may want to go after my bounty. Keeps it exciting. I am not a billionaire like you imagine all outlaws to be, I will not have bodyguards on my staff. I will only have my own wits and possibly gang mates backing me up. not sure but keeps things exciting..
