Originally by: Shazaamm CCP mandrake, you fail. What is wrong with you guys. Either put out a patch that works for all systems or dont put one out at all. This is just another example of how CCP rushes into something without testing it fully. Incarna is such bull**** anyway. Who gives a crap about walking around in a stupid room. You guys really need to make it up to mac users, you keep ****ting on us at every turn.
I do! I'm really excited to be able to finally walk around. I can't wait for them too get the rest of the stations in.

It works PERFECTLY. I really thank you very much for this fix. I had nothing else to install or download :) :)
Originally by: CCP Mandrake Edited by: CCP Mandrake on 22/06/2011 01:06:28 I have built a mini patch that will only add the missing fonts files that resulted in not being able to log in and font's being mangled.
here it is: content.eveonline.com/mac/FontsFixPatch.tgz
Hopefully, you will be able to patch your broken client and not have to download the full installer.

Are these the same ttfs that were in the bundle before Incarna?
If so, they don't properly render hi-ASCII and unicode. I just replaced them with the Arial Unicode font from OS X, which work correctly.

Originally by: Nayuri Atreides The mini patch works great. I can now type in the password fiel and right click on stations, items and ships.
One thing I do not understand. If it was not possible to type the password and right click, how people were able to CCP test the game end?

fnord
seriously thought it was a font issue, and not having said font, their machines likely got that font a long time ago in early testing.

The full installer worked fine, it was only the patching from one build to another that caused the issue.

Verification Failure
There are extra files in your EVE client installation. If you've recently applied a patch you may need to restart your computer.
Unkown files found: C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\_GameWorld.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\_icu.pyd C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\_trinity_deploy.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\APEX_BasicIOS_x86.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\APEX_Clothing_Legacy_x86.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\APEX_Clothing_x86.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\APEX_Framework_Legacy_x86.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\APEXFramework_x86.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\cuda.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\cudart.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\cudart32_30_9.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\icudt46.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\icuin46.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\icuuc46.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\PhysXCooking.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\PhysXCore.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\physxcudart_20.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\PhysXDevice.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\PhysXLoader.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\pxtask_cuda_x86.dll C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\pychartdir27.pyd C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\python27.dll

Originally by: Navlem Where do I place the downloaded patch so that it is part of the game?
once you have downloaded the patch, double click it, another item in the same folder should be created called FontsFixPatch and it will have the EVE Online icon on it. Double click that item, an file select menu will pop up, select your EVE Online client and click OK. The patch will apply and you try starting your client.
so what if do i do if i have steam and no client to apply to?

You do have a client. It's probably somewhere in your Steam Application Support folder.
However I suggest you forget about Steam and EVE cooperating. Deinstall the Steam EVE and download a client from CCP site. The EVE account you created with Steam will still work fine. --- I don't know! I don't know why I did it, I don't know why I enjoyed it, and I don't know why I'll do it again! Bart Simpson. |

Thanks Mandrake. Your fix worked fine and now I can login.
The login screen is not as jerky now as it was when it was not accepting the password.
Captain's Quarters are not exactly smooth, but I can move around and explore. Shame you can't actually walk down and get into the pod, but maybe that will be added later.
In space things are reasonably smooth. Not keen on the new look of the strip miner effect, but still good to be able to see what is being mined.
I tried with lower graphics settings and it even turned off the laser beams. Which option turns those back on please? It looks weird sitting there mining with no laser effect.

Nope, just ask me to reinstall the game.
Anyway, since the incursion launch we are going down the road for mac stability till we reached now with incarna this:
"Interval Since Last Report: 353 sec Crashes Since Last Report: 4 Per-App Interval Since Last Report: 169 sec Per-App Crashes Since Last Report: 4" Why a forum in the year 2011 still has no automatic double post merge which can be done even with javascript mostly is beyond my understanding. |
