By the looks of things CCP don't want me as costumer anymore. Unless there's a way to turn off captain's quarters which my current computer cannot cope with?
Maybe I needed a break anyway.
Some people have left isk with me, the only one who is actually still in game I think is Dezolf. I shall try to work something out with another computer one of the next days. ----------------------- "Signatures" trade chatroom / Universal Railways |

Of course there is. Go to your graphics settings and toggle "enable station environment" - or some such wording. First thing I did. Works a treat - byebye lag.

More reasons for QQ - the disable CQ option is only temporary. CCPhave said they intend to remove it at some undefined point in the (near?) future.

Yeah I'm not looking forward to that, I am however really looking forward to dust 514 being played on my customized xbox 360. Oh wait...

I really don't understand the whine abount the "cannot disable QQ". You can always just upen the star / system map ( <F10> ) and there you have all the windows you need, and all the performance you want.

The funny thing to note: There'll be plenty of folks who won't even be asking how to switch it off. They'll just quit. :)

Unfortunately, last I heard, they still do want whiners.

Tried this before I turned off the QQ. Pretty sure that it was still rendering the 3d environment in the background, based on my gfx card still sounding like a better-than-factory restoration Ferrari GT250.

Well, at least you can turn that off and keep playing. My box is officially toast for playing Eve now due to the shader 3 thingy. I call it a thingy because I just learned about it for the first time when I downloaded the patch and tried to start the game.
Now I know it was mentioned in previous dev blogs that one day this would happen (i know this now because i went back to see if it was mentioned), but until now I wouldn't have thought my graphics card could only support shader 2. Wish a little bit more information would have been made available about this.

Back at that time CCP also linked a super small program (like 100k) that would just tell you few bits including your video card supported SM.

Well, its not a big issue. I'm going to go out tonight when the stores are closed and steal a new computer so I'll be back to 4 eve-capable computers by tomorrow.

I had no problems on either my 4 year old laptop, or my brand new PC.
I feel sorry for those that can't load CQ, i quite like the TV buzzing in the background whilst i trade and im sure you will too Cista2 if you get your PC sorted out.
The vanity items have no bearing on game play atm, however when they open station environments up for multiplayer action, others will see what your wearing 'hence vanity' hehe.
My only gripe is the clothes are ugly, the monocle is ugly also, all i want is nice colorful scarf

More QQing!
After update no.3 today my computer repeatedly refuses to open EVE. CCP simply "stopped working".
Maybe these troubles are a message from my subconsciousness, that I should quit EVE and just concentrate on Entropia Universe for business, and DarkFall for fun?
(incidently, the auction houses in Entropia crashed simultaneously with the EVE problem, and DF, well that game is just a b****) ----------------------- "Signatures" trade chatroom / Universal Railways |

I had that problem, running repair.exe in the eve install directory fixed it for me. |

I also killed my computer when I loaded incarna - but my investors can relax, I got a new graphics card and a new monitor just to play it...
imagine how thrilled I was when I loaded up *gasp* a box with graphics slightly inferior to a nintendo 64
