Edited by: garus banta on 23/06/2011 08:22:25 Oh god just SHUT up about the monacles already. No one is forcing you to buy them! No one cares if you don't like them!
SHUT IT!
You failed to notice all the new innovative immersive qualities of the interface, that CCP is trying to push the menus into a virtual environment where you will interact like no other game currently has to offer.
You failed to notice 1000 other little intricate details that went into incarna because frankly you are too stupid to appreciate the innovation and just expect big shiny toys.
The interface in CQ is ****ing BRILLIANT on SO many levels, it's like Minority Report in a virtual environment. But you can't appreciate it because all you want to do is see the negative. You got the Mona Lisa and you are *****ING about the fact that she is just smiling and doesn't have big implants. ****ING IDIOT BOY!
Let me ask you this what have you contributed in your lifetime? Who the **** are you to judge anyone?
Just another whiny brat who doesn't DESERVE to play a finely crafted game engine that improves with every iteration.
Make your own if you think you can do better.
The character creator alone is a work of genius but you are too DIM to see the bright ideas that CCP has put up and are unable to recognize the next incarnation in gaming.
What CCP has done here in Incarna with the interface will be copied by future game developers, MARK MY WORD.

Are you a CCP infiltrate or are you GENUINELY not feeling cheated by them ? How do you react to the way they use planned obsolescence in their doc in a positive view, saying they should sell us crappy disposable stuff in order for us to rebuy every now and then ? (here is the exact quote:
Quote:
Concepts such as planned obsolescence and perceived obsolescence thus play a key role (obsolescence referring to the deliberate shortening of a productĘs lifespan). In the real world, light bulbs are engineered to last for a thousand hours and fashion cycles get people to buy new stuff season after season. If we are in this for the long run, we have to be thinking in similar terms

It has NEVER been done before! The closest thing I can compare this to is DEAD SPACE, where your suit was the interface.
THe fact that I can click on my corporation info while inside a station by touching a screen in new. It's a new way to interface and design a seamless immersive experience without having buttons floating around.
I think in the future the menus will all be inside the actual environments with an even easier navigation then what we see today.
The point is that CCP had the balls to try something new and untested because they want to make a better product that kicks ass and that no one else can deliver right now. I give them kudos and I respect their decision to take a risk.
You don't win by playing it safe and EVE is ANYTHING but safe as far as I can tell.
CCP FOR THE WIN!
I failed to see the light at first but the more I interact with the new system the more I admire the thought process because it is NEW, it is innovative and it pushes and blurs the line between environment and interface guis.

It's not new. You said it yourself that it already has been done in Minority Report. And even Minority report has copied it from an existing project back then.
It's called g-speak and it's available today: http://singularityhub.com/2010/02/17/minority-report-interface-is-real-hitting-mainstream-soon-video/
You're just clueless. There is no light.
Oh and btw - CCPs implementation of an interface in a movie that was copied by that movie of an interface that already existed and which was designed to NOT be used with a mouse - yep, you guessed it: CCP thinks using a mouse to control that interface is a good idea.

Not an alt, I joined eve online in 2009, read the forums and you will find many posts about me ****ting on CCP and the new CQ, until I realized how wrong I am and that I really didn't even give it enough time to digest before crapping on the new release.
I regret that I was so quick to judge before really giving it a try, because it is a totally new idea that has never been done before in an MMO.

A small note to our illustrious employer of the great word "innovative".
Back in the late 90s and early years of the last decade, SUN (Now owned by Oracle, RIP), Linux, Microsoft and Apple all came up with 3D environments for their OSes. Fast forward to today and the only one with anything like that left is Apple, and even they have started dropping that.
All those companies, who are a tiny bit larger than CCP and spend a tiny bit more resources and time on user interface research than CCP does have dropped the 3D interfaces for a reason:
3D user interfaces do not work very well, and they especially do not work well in a 2D environment.
But hey, CCP is being "innovative" and "fearless", so I'm sure they know better.

They failed because they were badly designed. CCP may have copied the idea from other sources but it's the FIRST mmo 3D interface. No other game has it currently that I can think of.
Is it original hell no, is it more polished then the crappy 3D interface that sun provided, definitely. This is the first 3D interface that is contextualized. I know big word look it up if you don't understand what I mean.

So great, CCP are doing something new and exciting. But they are implementing that new exciting interface on a steaming pile of crap that its clients (us) want fixed.
I give no ****s about CQ or the interface, I want fair gameplay: the ability to jump through a gate without, session change lag, to warp to friend under attack and have grid load, to activate modules and have them respond in the time their attributes claim they will, to be able to plan my skill queues for 2011-2012 without worrying that ccp will randomly wave the nerf bat on anything I am doing, to have variation in missions... ...this list could go on and on... ...have fun sitting in your room by yourself.
