I've been reading all night and I actually can't figure out what it is the community wants. Personally, I want MT's to cease and desist. I think some people are just upset about the price tag. And some just don't want it to grow. but am I wrong? What is it we want?

I personally want the MT scam gone. CQ is pretty bad too, which was developed for 4 years, but I'm sure it'll improve. Maybe.

Perhaps we can offer CCP a trade? I would trade allowing licensing fees for the end of the Nex.

Edited by: Mikal Morataya on 23/06/2011 10:53:12 I have no problem with MT/Aurum for vanity, customization, or such items.
Once you need Aurum (or someone does) to buy 'super' Scorch M, 'super' Hurricane etc etc I will seriously consider giving you all my stuff. I pay a monthly fee which is resonable and spend my isk ingame.
That is all.

Edited by: flapie 2 on 23/06/2011 10:56:22 I like the MT idee as it is now, somethings in that .PDF file are indeed not for the best of EVE nor CCP. But that is something can be overcome by time and balancing i gues.
I like the idee of having a clothing set almost no one else has, or maybe a rare Navy Mission runners suit gained from my agent true the LP store (altho that would make it less rare).
I would settle for the whole MT thingie to be put on hold for some balancing, so they can filter out the greed a bit more (and so the forum can calm down, manny but hurt kids spamming atm).

I want:
a. All free clothes and hairstyles to be available for all races. b. A legally-binding promise (i.e. one that would be actionable by players if it were broken) from CCP that if microtransactions are not entirely removed, they will remain restricted purely to vanity items - that is, items that have absolutely no effect on any game mechanics or non-cosmetic features. c. The other three Captain's Quarters. d. The old hangar view back, making Captain's Quarters entirely optional. e. More station interiors. f. Fixes and massive overhauls to factional warfare.
If CCP were to deliver on these items, I would be happy. ----- Andreus Ixiris CEO, Mixed Metaphor

Edited by: S''Way on 23/06/2011 10:54:34 At this point I'd say a new person who actually understands the game leading the direction of CCP. To get something so badly wrong as this and make it the laughing stock of the gaming world needs someone to be fired.
Other than that - for them to stop using EvE as a cash font to fund their other new mmo (as seems to be the case). MT's if they have to be in the game should stay vanity items only and be priced in line with other games DLC.
Use the MT income to fund EvE development (hire some more people to fix the bugs that have been around so long for example), not another game.

I want Incarna to have its code optimized and not give such horrible frame rates on any GPU that is less powerful than a Radeon 5770. I want CCP to keep Monetary Transactions well away from EVE Online's sandbox to not pervert and overturn the game mechanics that make the EVE Niche what it is. I want CCP to realize that upturning EVE Online's gameplay at this stage is impossible; Jason Rubin knows just how much of a mistake that is to make. I want Incarna to be the feature it deserves to be; it has a great deal of potential. I want CCP's top dogs and public faces, including Zulu (Arnar), Hilmar (Hellmar), Torfifrans (T0rfi), Soundwave (Kristoffer), and Zifandel to solidly, consistently and believably promise us that EVE Online's sandbox will be protected from MTs, and Monetary Transactions will never, ever override the sandbox that makes EVE Online what it is.

Well can we somehow know what do we want ?
What is want. Its different to need. I guess it is. So is it relevant? What if someone knows what we need and we compare it to what we want.
Who is right then ? What is better ?
that's basically base for conspiracy theories. Since most of us don't really hold any power to change anything and we all stand against those who can.

Edited by: Liva Daril on 23/06/2011 11:10:58 Simple, give us back the old station hangar and put a fricken "Enter CQ" buttan on it.
Incrapna damage almost mitigated.
Edit: almost, because the new client still is actually two clients.
The good old EVE-Space client that also renderes the old hangar, and this barely-out-of-beta(alpha?) stage actual Incrapna client that murders your hardware.
Both clients are loaded simultaneously, judging from the tripled memory footprint of the current client.
There¦s still the distrust about MT left though. Time will tell about that one. I¦m done believing anything some marketing boy or other MT-loving dev spews.

I'm OK with everything as it is, I have no intentions of buying anything with Aurum any time soon.. The vanity things are fine, as long as they stay vanity items and won't effect game play.. but if that eye piece gives +5 bonuses to all attributes and the only way to get it is to pay cash above and beyond the monthly subscription, then I'll ragequit like everyone else. I'd rather see the Hello Kitty Kestrel flying through space, at least I could shoot at it.

Edited by: Ospie on 23/06/2011 11:23:02 In order of importance (to me).
1) The old CCP back (I want to forgive you guys because of what you were, but you're making it hard for me atm)
Short term: 1) An official response. 2) Realistic MT prices, at least pretend it was a mistake (though if it were it would have been corrected by now) 3) Fix w/e's causing such huge stress on certain peoples machines in CQ (although I appreciate this is probably in the making anyway) 4) Allow people to be able to choose between the old hangar & CQ. (I love CQ myself and will continue using it, however I know a lot of people are genuinely not happy with it, some not even able to load the lower quality option currently available with their slightly aging computers - never mind the CQ itself)
Long term: 1) A guarantee on a sensible approach towards MT in which prices are affordable for the larger player base (which will lead to larger sales anyway). Only vanity items, no "super" ships/ammo, "vanity" versions of current ships (same base stats) or a way to paint our ships as we like would be ok. 2) Get these remaining CQ's out of the way 3) Actually start fixing the issues which have been plaguing eve since 2007 and beyond. 4) Bring back the old cyno effect 5) Rest of incarna

The community is a lot of people with different taste and desires, thats probably why you can't find a common voice about what the community wants.
Personally I'm getting a bit tired of running from MT games. I like to know what I'm paying for and what I get. I don't like getting reminded about real life constantly by seeing real life currency meters in games, it breaks immersion.

J.N. Starlings wishlist:
1. Incarna related a. 500% more choice free clothes for everyone, we're billionaires and should be able to buy a (normal quality) long coat, skirt or nice shoes below the price of a battleship; b. Bloodline or race change option (for max 1 plex/3500AUR); c. Ability to meet other characters; d. A CQ that doesn't look like there's roaches in the corners and garbage pails; e. Fixed lighting in our CQs so we don't look like deformed monsters in a lot of spots; f. Normal pricings on vanity stuff; g. Vanity stuff actually looking good; h. Pets
2. Non Incarna related i. Remove supercaps from the game; j. Speed up skilltraining by 500%; k. Remove jump stuff from the game, the universe is supposed to be huge; l. Add more space; m. Remove drone missions, make special faction mission agents; n. Remove the option to make killboards; o. Make LP store prices adjust to supply/demand; p. Make T2 production more simple and require less different stuff; q. Make mining worthwhile and more complicated so it's not macroable; r. Introduce arenas for more fun, more ship losses, it will boost the economy a lot; s. Remove insurance payout in case of a loss to CONCORD; t. Stop my new guns from rotating all the time!! u. Make new player experience better and offer newbs better protection; v. Remove arch enemy agents from your space; w. Make warp decelleration faster/instant so travel will be a lot faster; x. Fix the hulls of the Moa, Crucifier, Bellicose, remove the growth on the Omen; y. Nerf the Dramiel; z. Balance all tier ships so they're all useful.

I believe that the bulletin is real, so my view is:
* MTs won't go away, it's the new business strategy across all 3 of CCP's products - no amount of complaints will change this * DUST will have "power for $$"-style MTs, the whole game is developed and financed on that premise
what I want from CCP:
* commitment to vanity-only MTs for EVE (no faction standings, fitting slots, ...)
* no "boiling frog" strategy - please put the cards on the table and deal with the fallout; if you need more money (to finance 2 other games and pay unhappy employees) and feel that increasing subscription costs won't work then please explain us the situation and reasoning. Give us statements that we can rely on for (at least) the next 1-2 years, not statements that will be invalid after 3-6 months.
* lower MT prices - maybe you can charge 20-30$ for a limited edition Tornado if/when it gets released but 60$ for a monocle is crazy
* do things right with WoD, be upfront about the business model from the start, set realistic expectations, .. At this point EVE is pretty much dead - too clunky and old to attract many new players and the expectation that EVE has to be "different" is too heavily ingrained in the vets' minds. You cannot successfully remodel the game at this point in the game's life. You could have done so with Trinity or maybe even Apocrypha but at this point it's just too late. Experimenting with your only cash cow when you are already short on cash is extremely stupid and can backfire badly. EVE will probably never have much more than 300-400k subscriptions and you should calculate with stagnant growth - now is the time to reflect about all the design decisions and mistakes that turned EVE into such a niche game and try to avoid them with WoD.

1) fix Incarna ASAP or roll-back 2) remove micro-transactions (don't trust CCP to stick with vanity items only, so it should just go away so it doesn't tempt them again) 3) focus on EVE Online, fiddle with Incarna if they must and scrap DUST514 4) http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1383711

Personally i think it is over the top, but why worry about it if you are not going to buy anything. You don't go to every car dealer to tell them thier cars are overpriced if you are not going to buy it ? 1) fix Incarna cpu usage with and without station enviroment enabled and OR offer old station enviroment back. 2) remove micro-transactions and entire noble exchange. After that pdf nothing less will do because I don't believe anything you promise. 3) focus on renewing EVE Online core and build stuff around it as _sideproject_ only. 4) listen to players and put part of the devs working towards the goals the majority are after. Keep doing this permanently.

1, fix cpu usage yes and it wouldnt be hard to add a tick box for animations (WIS) and have a fast loading basic skin for the lesser pc's 2, MT not really important but does needs slight attention (put at bottom for pile) 3, wasn't this done recently ? and is in effect now. 4, they do listen to players, just the small % will rave and rant if they disagree with majority.
