Ok, this statement is extremely flawed because the targets come to you...the stations don't come to the industrials. Sitting at a friggin gate takes a lot less brainpower, risk, and organization then doing proper scouting and recon.

So essentially what you're saying is that you should be able to counteract your enemies setup, regardless of precautions he or she takes, but he should not be able to counteract yours? I find this laughable on so many levels. And before you chastise me, I assure you, I have read every one of the posts up to the point that I clicked "Reply" and comprehended them to the best of my ability, so please have something to say to my arguments other then just, "Did you even read my posts?!?".
You speak of your entertainment. What of my entertainment? Perhaps I like to play solo and don't have the luxury of a gang of mercenaries to help me through troubled space. No where in the EULA do I recall seeing, "If you wish to enjoy the full ammenities of this game you must be in a group that is capable of sustaining a merciless attack equivalent to an asteroid the size of Texas striking you directly in the scr0tum."
I choose to play for the most part solo, and do so for the majority of the time in the confines of secure space because I understand the risk of entering low-sec space. However, I believe folks should at least be able to *travel*, or *escape* any situation give the right setup, skills and ability. Just because there's 500 lions running towards a gazelle, if that gazelle spots the lions in time it should be able to escape regardless. However, if the lions are smart enough and use the tactics available to them, they can take the gazelle. The lions should not be petitioning God to make the Gazelle a three-legged animal, which is essentially what you're asking for. You want the ability, given numbers, to usurp any enemy, and my friend that's just not the way it is in real life. You need stealth and cunning and the tools available to you to do so...I suggest you make use of them.
Also, you speak of needing an equivalent number of mid-slots to counter a fully WCS'd BS. Yes, I understand that strength 2 scramblers have very limited range, though there are +2 and even +3 BS class scramblers are out there that offer the range you should need. Perhaps you should go hunt some officers and track down these mods. That will likely give you the ability you seek. Also, stealth seems to be really what you're lacking. Animals on the hunt don't just run around looking for prey...they must scout, and hunt, and most importantly, blend in. Maybe if a few of your party made use of cloaking devices and snuck up on your prey, that too would give you the advantage you need. But if you think that just because you see someone and run up to them that you should be to gank, then I disagree. Try some stealth.
It just seems to me that the bottom line is you are not getting the job done. Is it because getting away is too easy, or is it because you are not properly using the tools the system offers? Honestly, I don't know. But I will agree that disconnecting as an effort to get away is cheap and dishonorable. If you're scrambled and intentionally disconnect, then you should get pooched. You shouldn't be saved because you know how to close the program, or because you know how to remove the network cable. However, what about those folks who legitimately get disconnected? Do we err on the side of the carebear, or on the side of the ganker? I suppose that's a question that needs to be decided also. However, on that same note, bumping into someone to prevent them from aligning to warp is equally underhanded. If you allow one, then you should allow the other, because both of those tactics exploit game mechanics in my opinion. Anyway, just my two cents.
