First time I've weighed in here.
I asked myself why CCP doesn't just raise the subscription price, if its a cash flow problem. Seems , from the comments I've read, that few would mind this.
And then it dawned one me..........if people spend RL money on Vanity items (the foot in the door), then its a small step to P2W (where most of you seem to be drawing the line.) Once you get people (new players or old) to uptake even small things, even JUST VANITY Items, they have more than just TIME invested, the character and game itself become a monetary investment.
Once that happens, why not just raise the subscription price anyway?
Back 6-8 months ago, this was seen by the playerbase, as the "bigger picture". It took a dev blog denying MT as a possibility, then to quell the masses.
Now, they've shoved the foot through the door, and people saying "I'll quit if it ever becomes P2Win" have been blinkered down to this view. I'm not so sure but that this is a good thing for CCP.........you've already accepted the concept, by the time you buy ANYTHING for Aurum.
