Hello CCP, Here is me being proactive and productive I understand that you need time to gather yourselves from this very large problem. Something you need to understand is this fact your eve fan base is very very loyal and they feel like they are being turned into nothing but a giant wallet by you. Do with this post what you want but take it from someone with multiple successful businesses the key to losing everything you have gained is to do something to lose your customers they are what drives your entire company. Here in eve these customers are your subscribers.
Now onto the post I first want to thank you for coming out and at least saying something so we know your not all just ignoring us. The only problem with the post is this when you listed the concerns you knew of which were according to you: one the chief complaint is regarding the high cost of goods in the Nobel Market. Second, many people are unhappy about the CaptainĘs Quarters. Third, there are some performance issues with Incarna.
You left out what seems to be the most important factor of all now you may have done this on accident but with all that has happened it looks like you did it on purpose the thing that is bothering the player base the most is this: The new possible MT idea (meaning micro transactions) making everything in game cost RL money. This is probably the worst thing you could ever do. Now im not going to sit here and just say that Im going to tell you why this is so. 1) The system you have makes you stand out from all your competition(Which in the business world is major). 2) you will push away at least half of your fan base in one swoop. If you make ships, weapons, ammo and whatever that is better then what you can get without money and the only way they can get these super items it is to buy them well Im sorry but a lot of us either don't have that kind of money or even if we do would not spend it on that we work way to hard to do that. (therefore you'd lose a ton of players since there would be no more point to continue playing eve).
Please really think about what you're doing and do not ruin one of the best games in modern history to try and make short term goals. A company will always fail that way.
Now if you insist on doing something of this sort how about this idea: Make it for only vanity items such as the gold scorpion, clothes and so on and drop the prices down so it is a more feasible situation for the average eve player. If you do that I think you will see players staying and actually buying these items. But whatever you do I urge you do not make it for super items or ships or anything like that or I fear not only eve will fall but so will CCP as a company which is the exact thing you are trying to stop by doing this (for lack of a better word silly venture you call MT).
I am a devoted diehard and loyal eve player to a fault and spend more time on eve then in my own companies (sad but true) and even I can not stomach this possible switch in mindset please don't mess up this great and wonderful thing we all call Eve Online. I look forward to hearing more soon but already I have heard of hundreds if not thousands of pilots quitting including entire corps and maybe even alliances. Please fix this situation and fast.
Quoted for Truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About this expansion: CQ: not optimized but this is not a game breaker to me. I love the idea of walking in stations. New turrets: I love them. NEX: Hate it, even for vanity items. But I can live with it if it is ONLY for vanity items. (vanity item = item that does not influence gameplay or character stats, only the look of the character or ship)
What bothers me most is not even the leaked pdf. What bothers me most is the direction CCP is taking the game. Real $ does not have a place ingame. I would even agree to raise the subscription. When I play a game I don not want it to be influenced by real $, that is what real life is for.
I'm really interested in the answers from CCP, but I think it will be to little, to late...
My sub is canceled over this, but I'm willing to reactivate if they reconsider on the MT front. (But I doubt it)

Originally by: Whitehound I am not going to unsubscribe. I could do, just as a symbolic gesture, as I have got enough ISKs to buy PLEX for like 3 years. I will however not use my ISKs to get me a single Aurum either. In EVE everyone is allowed to make mistakes and to recover from them, and so should you, CCP.
You once had a slogan, saying: EVE Online. One server. One universe.
The slogan felt strong. It meant we were all one community and we were in all that we do together. And whatever we do to each other happened in one big sandbox. All actions, no matter how small or big they were, were believed to come back to us, as good or as bad.
Now we have got two currencies and it feels like you have created a space for some 1st class customers and everyone else, who does not get themselves some Aurum, will become 2nd class. No more "one universe" ...
The players buying their ISKs from goldsellers were always around, but you kept them at arms length and nobody, including you, CCP, wanted to have them in-game. We all felt that if we let real world money take control over our game, then it would spoil the fun. And now there is Aurum and it feels like you are inviting all those players into EVE, who solve their EVE problems with real world money by rolling out a red carpet. Only the red carpet here is the Captain's Quarters / Incarna.
What I like about Incarna is the Captain's Quarter as a first 3D environment for my avatar. I also like the agent finder. I do not like the new 3D weapons and it feels disturbing to have them animated. What I am still missing is a map filter for miners, the ability to save orbit/approach ranges for each ship individually. Small things like this make me happy. I would never ask for vanity items as I do not want them. The new 3D weapons graphics is probably one child of this vanity item idea, meant to make space ships more shiny. But after all these years is the EVE community likely the last one that needs vanity items. Starting with EVE for me meant to leave all vanity behind and to start fighting. It is a fine learning experience and shall not ever be rewarded with vanity items (in whatever way).
So what you have done is to drop your child on the floor. There is nothing you can add to EVE to make the disappointment better. All you can do is to get rid of Aurum and perhaps give out those vanity items for free so we can all have a laugh. If you do not, then it will be felt as forcing your will onto the community, and it will cost you.

ARE YOU GOING TO INTRODUCE NON-VANITY ITEMS INTO THE NEX MARKET?
