I never quite understood what the fuzz is all about. Sure, people say that CCP have been lying about introducing Microtransactions in EVE, but I can't see what harm the Noble Exchange-thing has done so far. It's not like richer players suddenly got an advantage over less economically fortunate players. They already had that advantage. In a sense, this whole deal has been around for a long time, if I recall correctly.
What I'm hinting at here is PLEX. As you probably know, you can buy PLEX with real money, sell the PLEX in-game and get ISK for it and use those ISK to buy fancy stuff. How exactly is this different from the Noble Exchange store? You still buy PLEX with real money, exchange it into AUR, then buy fancy stuff using your new AUR.
I don't mean to actually defend either side in this debate, I just want to point out to all those who want Microtransactions gone, that removing them entirely would require that PLEX are removed as well. Would you really want that to happen?

Now, I can understand that some people are mildly agitated that they have been lied to by CCP. To be honest, I only recently heard about the MT-protests. Until Incarna came out, I had no idea CCP were planning on adding some of the useless vanity-items in the Noble Exchange-store. It probably could help if I actually read the dev-blogs, rather than only bothering to read the Patch Notes that come with each patch.
In my eyes, the Noble Exchange-store only offers more options for using your PLEX, and as such isn't really that bad... YET! I don't mind that you can buy vanity items if you feel you have the money, but if they start adding more... attractive options, then CCP might as well take a Tech 2 1400mm Artillery Cannon and shoot themselves in the foot with it. I probably won't be using the Noble Exchange-store anyway, since I don't have the money to buy PLEX for that purpose, but I would probably consider quitting EVE the moment they allow you to buy Faction Standings and Faction Ships/Equipment. Allowing those to be purchasable goods would honestly ruin EVE for me, and probably also for the rest of my Corp. Why? Well, they're not things that should be aavailable for purchase in the first place. Faction ships, modules and standings should (in my eyes) be earned, rather than just bought for money. Besides, I think I speak for a lot of people here, when I say it's a lot more fun to go out and earn the ISK and Loyalty Points needed to buy a Faction Battleship, rather than just buying a bunch of PLEX's and exchanging them into AUR and then just buying the ship. It is a lot more entertaining to watch random NPC-pirates go "Kaboom!"

All in all, I think CCP should be very careful what they do next. My corp actually wouldn't mind if they could go back to Incursion 1.6, and then continue from there, but I guess that's not going to happen any time soon...
And whatever you do, CCP, don't p**s off your players more than you've already done. Right now, there's a fire, and your kind of damage control seems to be pouring gasoline on the flames. Needless to say, you should do what would work, rather than what isn't as effective (that is, you should give your players what they want, rather than what they don't want). They don't want words or excuses, they want (sorry to say it) Incursion 1.6. It had less complaints, it allowed them to spin their ships, and it was generally rather well done unlike Incarna in general.
That's all from me. I think we're done here.
