I believe the views he expresses in the newsletter to be completely wrong, but I think if we give him and the other CCP guys a chance to see the player's perspective without personal attacks that drive them away from the discussion, they will come around to our side. Worst comes to worst we can just all unsub and the company will go bankrupt, but hopefully we can reach a compromise before that stage.
If Soundwave and the rest of CCP had talked to players like the CSM (or, you know, the guys under NDA who were hanging out with them all last week) about this they would have understood our concerns earlier. At this point we need more contact between devs and players, not less.
Well said.
This. Many times this.
I'm plenty frustrated with the situation, but I don't think CCP is going to be able to actually give us the answers we want to hear if we keep jumping down their throats.
If you're unhappy with the situation, you have several options available to you. You can throw your toys out of the pram, threaten the devs, scream profanity, type in huge font and all caps in funny colors, but none of that is actually going to help the situation. On the other hand, you can stop, pull yourself away for a moment, cool the **** down, and then try and be constructive.
Yes, it's understandable that you're ****ed off and want to vent. But it isn't particularly productive at the moment and isn't going to get anything done faster. If you're going to leave, STFU and do so and let those who are going to try to stick it out in the hopes that things can be mended try to be useful.
I'm pretty annoyed that Crysis runs better on my machine than the CQ does. I'm also a little underwhelmed by the current state of the CQ as a whole, given the things that were told to us about what it would be. I'm definitely annoyed that instead of having the option to decant/disembark from the hangar we've all come to know and love to the CQ, we're given the choice of a hit-or-miss performance from CQ, or an ironically poorly-chosen static image of the door.
I'm definitely annoyed that I could buy a whole outfit or two IRL for the same cost as that monocle. I'm extremely irritated that CCP is backpedaling on previous promises on the subject of the extent of microtransactions in EVE, and that the idea that someone could buy something that would have an effect on actual gameplay while bypassing the ingame economy altogether is even being considered.
But on the other hand, I'm very much liking the new turrets. The new Maller model is outstanding. The Agent Finder tool is a piece of solid ****ing gold and I can't see how the hell I lived without it before even though I've only spent about ten or fifteen minutes fiddling with it.
I was looking forward to the concept that is Incarna. I'm heavily disappointed in the resulting implementation as it stands - mostly because I feel that there was a lot of feedback on the forums from the testing clients on Sisi and Duality that appears to have been ignored in favor of meeting a deadline that was overhyped and caused unrealistic expectations from the playerbase rather than keeping the feature in testing until it was actually ready. But I'm not leaving. I'm sticking around, because frankly I like this game too damn much to just throw my hands up in the air and quit.
Quoating corpmate because :agree:. People need to live more in the present and spend less time screaming about a possible future ¼¼ this signature space is claimed in the name of eris, haha I got to him first. neeneer
