CCP, I thought you had a PR dept... it's now 2pm UTC and no significant unified response. Appreciate the responses that Manifest made, I hope they're not the only CCP employee with a bit of sense...
The longer you wait to quell this, the worse it gets and the more people take notice...There is enough rumour and speculation to kill your company image in the eyes of a hell of a lot of people. That's new subs/old subs and new subs for the new games... give the community what they want or tell them all to **** off...your choice, you're salaries...

I think it's a shame that EVE is becoming CCP's live test ground for systems that they would like to implement into their other games.
Sadly, they are shooting themselves in the foot, selling out and are destined to go down as yet another developer aimed solely at extorting just enough money to make their efforts worthwhile whilst producing something that nobody would be proud of as a thing in itself.

CCP may or may not be ruining EVE but this bad publicity and their game being pulled through the mud is almost definitely going to ruin them.
So, much as I appreciate your post Pann, you, as a business, need to get your PR sorted out. This looks awful all over the internet. Current MMOers and prospective MMOers are seeing this...
Zulu's blog is a total joke. It's loaded with attitude and doesn't answer the questions which we all know you have read. You'd be better off saying nothing at all than trying to gloss things over. It makes you look stubborn or inept...neither is a quality I tend to invest hard earned money in...

Hilmar's email is sickening.
I feel sorry for the CCP employees who had any kind of pride in the game that they had made. It's clear that for Hilmar it's just a machine to make money, he is like the art dealer with no appreciation of art.
EVE is special, as is its community. Imagine a group of players so passionate as to respond this vehemently to this bastardisation in any other game ever... Hilmar is carving up the corpse before it's dead.
Enjoy those sweetbreads, make sure you suck on them.

CHANGE COURSE NOW! CHANGE COURSE.
Admit your mistakes as mistakes and learn from them.

If CCP still has some level-minded top brass and this turns around...I really want SP to make up for all this. I'm happy to pay for them with PLEX...

I'm betting those 52 monocles were not bought with real money. I'd be veeeery surprised if, given the uproar and shaky ground that EVE as a game is on, anyone is buying GTC's at all right now...
52 monocles is a victory? You make CCP sound like total airheads Hilmar...
How many subs have you lost? How fast will your player base grow now that your company image is being torn apart? Does 52 virtual eye-pieces equate?
You are going to find yourselves with 10% of the subs and those people having to fork out HUGE amounts of $$$ to buy this crap because you'll then NEED the revenue to keep EVE alive at all...you can bin the other games for a start...
TL:DR EVE was doing well, it was growing and it was making history. Now you're going down in history as liars and cheats.

Apparently their customers are just random guys on the internet?
wow. what is going on at CCP? Can you imagine walking into any other business... as a customer.. and be treated this way? really? WTF.
lol wow. A player is just some guy on the internet to them? Just wow.
Give the GM a break, he has a tough job, sat on EVE, typing responses to people. No wonder the stress leads to such an attitude... afterall, nobody else has difficult things to deal with in their lines of work.
Totally CRAP customer service there. FAILCASCADING like nobody ever has ever before.

Brilliant, and in the same way that CCP once used the original 'Learning Curve' graph in a presentation, so too can their final board presentation show this to explain how badly everything went wrong...

If I were the Perpetuum makers I'd right now be offering free game time or free in game currency to EVE converts...
Then, because I imagine they care about their players, I'd give everyone else the same.
