Speaking as a Comptroller & Chief Financial Officer of a real life company I understand and accept that the continuation and expansion of this new on-line store will fall squarely on ONE thing -- did the inward cash flow exceed outward cash flow.
So in the simplest terms :
X = Amount of lost fixed income from monthly subscription
Y = Amount of variable income from in-game store
X also includes people like me who support 6 accounts with PLEX on the open market - keeping PLEX value up. Rest assured, if enough like me stop supporting the PLEX market, we do fall under X.
As long as Y > X on the average, that means company profits are going up. That means a manager made a good decision, and things will stay on course. Hell he may get a raise. Being a businessman, I accept this. I deal with it every day at work.
I have more isk than I know what to do with, and continue to accumulate more than I know what to do with. I donated over 340 PLEX in the first PLEX for good because I honestly had no other use for all my isk, and it was for a great cause. I've given it away in fake scams just because it amused me. I've helped out many corp mates with their isk trouble simply so they could get out and have fun.
In summary - I am the target market for your vanity items.
I was going to blow some isk on silly vanity items on day 1; but didn't due to inability to cash out PLEX remotely. I sent off a petition to ask if I could cash them out remotely, no dice. Oh well, maybe in time I can get to those stations and cash them out I thought - no rush.
Then I saw the leaked memo. Then it was confirmed it wasn't a fake. Then I read the memo again in detail.
Sorry, but I can not, in good conciseness, support any increase in this new variable income that will most likely contribute to the expansion of this on-line store to sell non-vanity items. The fact I can afford whatever you throw on it is immaterial. I play Eve Online to goof off with friends I've made in Veto. over the years, and quite a few of them have unsubbed. If more of them keep leaving, I will lose the biggest reason I play this game to begin with.
Quoting this again, because CCP needs to ****ing read this. I had 5 accounts, now I have one with 5 months left.
I would walk away from Eve right ****ing now, but I love my corp way too ****ing much.
CCP should count their blessings that the bonds we as player form through this game out weigh their own utter stupidity.
CCP if you aren't scared you should be you've **** all over the trust we had for you and that is dangerous. You need to stop releasing buggy expansions about stupid ****, and get back to making spaceships more awesome.
I can no longer trust any CCP employees, you have all proven unwilling to keep your word to me.
And that makes me sad, because Eve really is bigger than a game to me.
