I'm nutshelling it because I doubt I'll get through to many people anyway.
The document that went out was a development stage; getting every idea to consider them. GTA was originally going to be you playing a cop and was going to have completely different gameplay.
Eve is a great game. What you're all screaming about hasn't even happened yet... nor will it. It's all so ridiculous that you've worked yourselves up into a massive mob frenzy. Like the G20 summit, you'll only be hurting yourselves.
Go calm down and think about the real "facts" (since I've seen that word chucked around a lot).
Some devs suggested the possibility of moving with the times and getting on board with RMT for advantages. CCP's official stance is "that will never happen". Glamour items are expensive, CCP's official statement is "they're meant to be". Hundreds of bandwagoners (many of whom I'm assuming haven't seen more than other players explaining something like "CCP are u-turning on RMT!") single out hard working CCP employees because of their suggestions in a document that is not for public consumption, CCP responds with "we won't tolerate that". Good.
Stop being so pathetically over the top, overly dramatic and extremist about something you've assumed because of a document that is part of the development cycle and if you genuinely, truly can't get over your rage then rage quit.
But don't ****ing post about it because nobody really cares that you think you own Eve with your thirty odd dollars or whatever you pay for all your alts.

Sorry, but microtransactions are not something that most people who play eve want at all. The fact that they are in the game now is embarassing. The devblog has only enflamed the situation, by telling the community that they aren't going anywhere. EVE isn't a MT game. If the community lies down and accepts this, why would CCP NOT bring in more MT possibilities? If we embrace, or even just allow this in EVE, why would they possibly remove the MT that we clearly do not want?

Yes, we need to keep a cool head - and we don't really know what CCP's exact intentions are about opening the RMT pandora's box, or if those maybe changed after today's outrage.

Is it? Then why have CCP Fallout, CCP Pann and CCP Zulu all refused to make that statement?
As for whether or not these changes have happened yet - EVE is a long term game. Whether or not I will be capable of playing this game in the way I enjoy playing it next year or the year after that matters to me right now. Why should I invest time in my corp, my militia, and my own character's actions for anything beyond immediate gratification if I don't think EVE will last? EVE is not a shooter, it's not a get what you want right now game. I make plans that last months, and have goals that span years. Players right now are coming to the reasonable belief that their long term EVE goals might not be sustainable, because EVE itself might not last that long.

If they had no definite plans to allow MTs for in game advantages they would have quickly and simply diffused the entire situation and calmed people down by just saying so.
It's the question everyone wanted answered. Last we heard MTs were just for vanity items. Why wouldn't they answer it?

Incarna didn't break anything in EVE for me. What will happen in the future may, but I'm still going to be playing until I see the game broken or I get bored. I've played games with stores, so even if they do give advantages, I'll wait to see the impact before quitting.

glassdoor
"Several years now CCP has predicated insane subscriber goals that cannot be met. Naturally this is met with scepticism by the employees but it falls on deaf ears. The result is that the company is suffering because we cannot sustain the development of EVE, DUST and WOD. EVE is not creating enough revenue which means that solutions are sought, solutions that CCP was vehemently against a few years ago." |

Any one who buys the document in development stage is simply wrong. The document was in development stage 12 months ago. Players stood up. CCP said OK we wont do that. Now we find CCP are discussing it.... ...AGAIN.
It is time to put it bed for once and for all.

I tried posting something like this last night. When people are ****ed, they are ****ed. There is no reasoning with a mob, it's best to just let what happens, happen. At least you notice an aspect even some people who have been here for 80+ hours havn't. The RMT people are the only ones that are probably fighting this, along side with whoever they may have rallied in to the frenzy.

I'm not throwing a tantrum, cancelling my sub, or anything like that, but it really does look like MTs aren't just for vanity items anymore, and they're being all dodgy about it.
Anyone who can't see that is either in denial or has a diminished capacity.

I disagree with the premise of your post.
I believe a majority of the people who are complaining about what is happening understand that CCP was internally debating the issue and that non-vanity items were not about to be introduced.
What is troubling though is that CCP had an easy opportunity to address the "non-vanity items for Aurum" question and chose not to answer it. Even a casual reading of the 200+ page threadnaught about the issue would have shown that it was an unanswered question that many in the EVE community wanted to hear CCP's thoughts. CCP could have even taken the option you suggested and reiterated that it would never happen. But they didn't, and people believe CCP was silent because CCP intends to do so.
Of course, people have varying reactions regarding non-vanity purchasable items. I, for one, would not like their introduction into the game but appreciate that others are less bothered.
