Yeah, I played during 2006, quit in 2007, and came back almost a month ago...but now...I'm extremely unhappy where this game is heading and will have to cancel my subscription until things change DRASTICALLY.

. . . Only a few weeks ago we revealed more information about DUST 514 and now we have done it again by committing to our core purpose as a company by redefining assumptions. After 40 hours we have already sold 52 monocles, generating more revenue than any of the other items in the store.
This we have done after months of research by a group of highly competent professionals, soliciting input and perspective from thought leaders and experts in and around our industry. We have communicated our intention here internally in very wide circles through the Virtual Economy Summit presentation at the GSM, our Fearless newsletter, sprint reviews, email lists and multiple other channels. This should not come as a surprise to anyone.
Currently we are seeing _very predictable feedback_ on what we are doing. Having the perspective of having done this for a decade, I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change.
We went out with a decisive strategy on pricing and we will stay the course and not flip flop around or knee jerk react to the predictable. That is not saying nothing will change, on the contrary, in fact we know that success in this space is through learning and adapting to _what is actually happening_ and new knowledge gained in addition to what we knew before and expected.
All that said, I couldnGÇÖt be prouder of what we have accomplished as a company, changing the world is hard and we are doing it as so many times before! Stay the course, we have done this many times before.
52 monocles 0.o Must be good times in the bunker Seen many times but this script is gold |

If this is genuine, then even Hillmar doesn¦t understand EVE anymore.
Talking in the only language he (& his drinking buddies) understands is the only option.

A real life company is offering a product, wants to make money off it, and is making money off it.
That is.. that is jus' so strange and alarming.
Well then.. everyone hurry up and leave, no need to post anymore. Time to run off to.. uhm..
Oh.. look. almost every single MMO is MT driven far worse than EVE. I guess you're all stuck with the console genre of games. Have fun with that.. whats that cost, 40-50 bucks a pop couple times a month? Cooool.
I'm glad you all think a lot.. EVE playerbase could use a lot less dumbdumb. ---------------------------------------- Treat the EVE markets like you are its Pimp.. it is your 'willing' employee to fondle n use n abuse as you please. |

"but we have also defined what it really means to make virtual reality more meaningful than real life"
Anyone that takes playing eve to be more meaningful than real life needs therapy.
That applies to any player that's gotten in too deep or a CEO that's pretentious enough to think their product is better than real life.
So they really think they've invented Second Life, the space edition.
Lol. I'll play out my remaining months of a yearly subscription, if only to work with the friends I've made in eve and coordinate what we move on to.

As was brought up on the EVE Radio broadcast, I too have some sympathy for the 600+ people that are going to lose their jobs within a year once the subscription cancellations hit home and the company crashes and burns.
But c'est la vie.

Confirming the biomassing of me, Juggleknot, and Lenny Breenko.
Also, confirming I will put every effort from this point on to dissuade people from using CCP products, or anyone aifiliated with them.
Take care, best community in gaming
To the devs that still care, hope you land a job making 10x what you make now, you are wonderful.

I've been playing this game over 7 years and are you honestly going to tell me the epic goal of your game was to sell monocles? That seems to be all you are really driving home to your coworkers... THAT is your example of success? Reality check, mmorpgs have been buying/selling this stuff for decades. You are not the pioneers here... in fact you are the lame ducks who are following standards instead of setting standards... the reason we all loved Eve. Now, you fart around in your $1000 jeans and think you're God.
I hope someone takes a **** on your chest and smashes it with a tennis racket... you piece of ****.

True CCP need to make money however EVE has been running well for 8 years I doubt the NeX is required to keep it that way. EVE was successful because it offered something different.

I truly hope this is a fake, but as with what I've seen recently of CCP, it could very easily be real. This is the norm though for when people are blinded by GREED. I wonder if CCP still remembers what it means to "love the work you do"...
