The ship
Bs lvl4 its like cruiser needs lvl4 frigate, it aint tech II so doesnt need lvl5
Spaceship command lvl5 As most ships need this
Mechanic, Engineering and Electronics lvl5 If summin breaks you gotta know how to fix it
The Weapons
Gunnery lvl5 Of course
Small, Medium and Large turret lvl4 gotta have good skills cos its gonna have serious pwnage
Surgical strike, motion prediction, Sharpshooter lvl3-4 And other such skills
Missile op lvl5 Of course
Standard missiles, Heavy missiles and Cruiser/torp missiles lvl4 Same as with guns
Thats what i rekon you might need.... not easy to train for but not hard either.
I made these up btw, they aint figures from CCP or anything so dont think im a god (alltho you can send me daily isk if you want )

There better not be any bloody missile skill requirements for the Amarr Dreadnaught.

Like it or not dude i think all the dreads will have missiles on em. FFS think about how weak an Ammar dread would be without em. all it has it big lasers? woooo magic and lasers. Vs a nice Caldari Dread.. big ass hybrids and HUGE big ass missiles....
*weighs options in either hand* Magic and Lasers? Big Ass missiles? Magic and Lasers? Big Ass missiles?

I hope piercer's list is right, coz then i've only gotta do a couple of nav skills to 5 and then i can do jump drive (which is a guaranteed pre-req, as all BFS will need a jump drive to move).
For a lot of the older players the skills wont be the problem, it's the cost of the ship that will be limiting...but as has been said on a few threads BS were meant to be rare but now they're more common than shuttles. Numbers could be limited by bp's, thatd make em rare, but then only mission *****es could get em.... =============================================

I hope it requires no fewer than 7 skills at level 5 that no-one ever uses, most of which are rank two or above, and needs at least one new skill that no-one has yet, which is rank 12 or something ridiculous, and cannot be insured, so that we won't have like, two million newbs flying around in them. Since Dreadnoughts will be too big to fit through jump gates, Jump Drive Operation 1 would seem to be a realistic requirement for flying one.

I wonder if the large ship classes would require fuel to run, like POS's.
They will be using the same type of torps as a POS and i bet the jump drive would require fuel also.
Just a thought.....

Yeah, a 'fuel hold' for fuel used to run the jump drive maybe?
Not the cargo bay because i would think it would take loads of fuel to do a jump (large m3 space). ----------------------------------------

Who cares?
CCP said dreads where *possible* this year, they said the same last year. They have no art content, or even temp stats.
Don't fool yourself and keep forking over money because the new shiny feature might be coming out SOON(TM).
The chance of dreads before September is about as high as all the ships magically becoming balanced and all of them gaining a role in PVP. --------------------------------------------------

Agreed. Especially when they keep rewriting the entire code for each major patch. The only advantage they gain is knowledge of general programming, but they lose so much more. It goes every best practice programming.

We don't need art concept. The Gallente Titan was seen on the test server. People shot it. It shot back. People went boom. ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! Now I'VE got the Oscar! Enjoy your worthless gun! |

Dreadnought will require battle ship lvl 3 probably a similar skill to Destroyer and Battle Cruiser.
They will be very cool but only for a shot time.
Then the NOOBLARS will spam the forums complaining that they cannot fight Dreadnaughts in their nooblar frigs and that PVP is unbalanced.

Puuh people keep amazing me.
I bet 100 mil isk that it will need Racial Battleship skill level 4 AND Spaceship Command lvl5.
Nothing else. If someone says other, they are lieing or don't know **** about game. Choose which one. _______________________________________________ My opinions aren't my corporations opinions.

I see Dreadnaughts as a gap class ship like the Destroyer and Battlecruiser classes before it. Hence I think requirements for the Dreadnaught will be something along the lines of Spaceship Command 5 to train the generic Dreadnaught skill, then Racial Battleship 3 for the Dreadie you wish to fly. (Can't remember the exact requirements for Destroyers and BC's at to mo, and I'm sat at work)
I see Titans as the next proper class up from Battleships and will have Racial Titan skills to train, therefore you will probably need Spaceship Command 5 (maybe even something that requires SS Command 5, like BFS Command 1) and Racial Battleship 4
Doesn't matter how much you shout about your opinion being right, unless you are a Dev, it nothing more than that, an opinion.

I¦m hoping it will be some serious skill requirements for a change. Like battleship 5, heavy assault 5 and large spec 4 for the specific weapon type. But I wont get my way :(

Magic and Lasers, cause with the ranges these behemoths will be fighting at by the time your "Big Ass missles" hit me you'll be dead from my "Magic and Lasers" and i'll just use my jumpdrive to run away from your "Big Ass missles" :)

I'm betting on racial BShip IV and SS Command V.
And as for Jump Drive Operation, this is my guess: JDO I for Freighters JDO II for carriers and dreadnaughts JDO III for Titans

If they can't use stargates, htf will they be able to use stations? Or have I missed something? Are the plank generator fields able to warp the massive dreadnaught into a station that is already unfeasably small to fit my BS, let alone another 194 ships, offices, labs.... If they can't use stations, how are you going to be able to sell them etc.

Not me - I don't complain. I haven't even got close to exploring the full potential of frigates and cruisers. I'd only fight something that big as part of a fleet and I'd hedge my bets on the equipment I fit so as to cut my probable losses.
The big new ships are aimed at the experienced High SP players and I'm happy with that. Gives me something to look forward to when I've played a lot longer... -- ** All accounts cancelled - have fun guys ** |
