45k people on and funny enough, no one is leaving yet as they cancel and still play. If people are mad over one feature, then just don't use it at all. People should already know that there's hundreds of other games besides EVE and if I get bored, I simply unsub for a while and come back at later time.
I'm still laughing at those people shooting at a monument in Jita all night and it's not dying. Better off just shooting other people and killing each other in empire for a change. It's one way to vent and feel better afterwards. Shame how people claim to unsub but they're still here playing the game anyways.

I'll say this. Not much of this has filtered into the general population. Then I don't hang out in Jita or Amarr. I suppose things are noticeable there. Other than that, the amount of people in the systems I've been through today seems pretty normal. Pilots just doing their thing. Not running rampant trying to destroy nodes or anything. I think perhaps this has snowballed due to the insular way the forums are. Most people really are just enjoying the game with no anger. Except the usual. Getting ganked and stuff.

Considering that an expansion was just released, possibly the most anticipated expansion in EVE's life?, 45k people online is hardly anything to write about. Shouldn't ex-players be flocking back to the game to try out this awesome expansions? Shouldn't there be a flood of trial accounts to see what the fuss is all about?
Seems like another normal day in EVE to me.

It's only partly about the CQ... It's more about the MT thing certain players feel "forced" into methinks... But then again, NeX doesn't bother me in any way.
Neither does buying sp, just like powerleveling in other games... If it get's people an advantage, others will cry about it. But then again, SP doesn't reflect on how you use ships ingame.

Eve online #s have been declining for years...I doubt old players will come back (based on age of the game) as they have either
1. died
2. forgot the game existed
3. have more important things to do

How many times do we have to repeat explanations of basic account mechanics? I`ve unsubbed but can still log in until 01/08 due to repeat sub i was on for FIVE years, I can still log in and talk to the community I (mostly) love to spread support further, and yes it is working, 5 of my mates are doing the same with mains, alts etc. Unsubbing isn't quitting eve and giving some d**k my stuff, its suspending payment to dent their precious finances. And for the inevitable "even 10,000 desubs wont matter" line - It will, apparently subscription model "isnt working` as it is to fund 3 game development projects (shock horror, maybe the economist they got onboard needs to go back to basic math school) and they need to scam $80 out of people for a flipping pixel monocle.

and another hint. For the 1 thousand accoutns unsubbed (theorethical number) there are 2 thousand people that are nwo in Jita protesting And thsoe peopel , a lot fo them woudl normally NOT be online right now...
That balances a lot.
Also after a new expansion usually we have a HUGE increase in online players. We don't have it now. So player number wise it has not shown any signal of success yet. The losses form unsubscriptions will hit them only after 3-6 months.

This is different. This is even wrose than the reverted 100 page carrier change dev blog. And all that was going to do was make it so motherships could only control 5 fighters.
Eve the great nano nerf didn't effect the game much. Lots of people complained. But in the end no one did anythig about it, the press never picked up on it, and all in all the number of subs increased.
Can you link one other expansion that got this much bad press on non-eve websites?
