Todays server graph on the eveonline.com front page is tracking precisely on step with last Saturday pre-Incarna.
If people really were quitting enmasse, as they claim to be on these forums, it seems like that graph would be a impossible.
So while I get that some folks really do have their panties in a wad about this, I think a lot of people posting on this forum are just using this as an opportunity to act like jackasses while they macro mine in Genesis.
If you're really actually not going to quit, stop making the forums so unpleasant. And if you really are going to quit, please take your rage out the door to your new MMO. Because the noise in here is coming from so many directions anyhow, nobody can see anything or possibly read it all.

I'm assuming you've never cancelled a subscription before.
You can keep playing until your game time runs out. _____ This is one of the moments where we look at what CCP does and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change. |

when u unsub you have time left, you just dont renew, some people pay per year, and when they unsub can have months left of game time, also, many people are logging in, shooting monument in protest then AFKing, saying goodbye to friends and corp mates, and or going out with a bang.

Just because people are leaving and unsubscribing does not mean they don't have game time left, wont play with their friends, and wont spread a message. This is a campaign of awareness and it's a good pressure valve for years worth of frustrations coming to the surface.

That's the thing, it is precisely because we love EVE that we want to fight for it. The ones just wanting people who don't like how CCP want to destroy the game to turn it into Farmville to leave are the ones who probably don't have as much invested in it. |

He is also missing the fact that after an expansion there is usually an increase in activity.
If I were CCP I would find the fact the amount of players online is only just pegging last week.

Also, keep this in mind.
every patch has had a vast amount of people re-sub to come check it out, normally after an expansion the PCU is broken, it has been way off this time.
you saw all the rage on the forums, almost every thread? many saying they are quitting? you see now that alot more threads are about pro incarna etc? well that's going to be because the people most ****ed off have, indeed, quit!
when the people that re-subbed for the patch, leave again, and the people that quit accounts expire, then you will have your answer.
don't be too hasty to claim victory!
At this point, only time will tell for both sides.

Edited by: Tippia on 25/06/2011 23:25:48 àalso, a Saturday after a big, long-awaited patch matching the Saturday before said patch is pretty darn poor. That's usually when everyone logs in and plays with the new toys.
Compare this to the weeks after Incursion hit (the actual feature, not the patch), back in Januaryà ùùù ôWe want to try this thing called micro-transactions, but we don't know what it is. Can anyone explainà aw screw it, let's just do it! What could go wrong?ö ù ÇÇP |

Edited by: Chandler Urandom on 25/06/2011 23:23:24 First and foremost: How long have you been around? After expansions there are typically a surge of players online. After large expansions, this number increases substantially. Considering Incarna was a very much anticipated expansion, the number is quite low.
Secondly: For the love of ****, cancelling subscription != gone immediately!

I've wondered the same. But I think it's just a lot of huff and puff. Lots of air. I'm sure a few actually quit. But I'd wager it is no where near what the forum warriors claim it is.

AHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAH "I cancelled my account because this game sucks!" And then they continue playing it. What a joke! Even then, the protests contain a lot of people who won't unsub. There seems to be next to no ingame support. Protestors attempting to plead their case that "If CCP sell pants, they're going to sell SP!" is being shot out of the sky by randoms in local.

Edited by: Ghard Eleran on 25/06/2011 23:23:29 lets say i cancel my subscription on the same day i pad it i would then have 1 month of play time before my account was unacessable.
and in that month i would protest for a few reasons
with the removal of spinning your ship in statons you can go out protest and it gives the same enjoyment at least for me. most of the time was spent sitting in station talking wih copr/alliance mates about random stuff now i can talk about my hatred for ccp's new buisness modle with anyone i see whill orbiting the statue in jita amd to make it better there prety lazers and missiles!!!!

They're unsubscribed and protesting, what's so hard to understand about that?
What's more worrying is that the anti protesters don't seem to be that bright for the most part. Ideal candidates for an MT shop it seems.

Yeah, if there wasn't an expansion in between these two weekends, that would look like good news. But as there was ... it actually looks like pretty scary news.

I payed for 6 motnhs in advance. And My decision that EVE does not deserve MORE of my money does nto make me stupid to jsut throw away the money I have already spent. If i do that I would be givign moeny for free to CCP, and that is last thing I would do.

This worries me too. Like a post said some time ago, they are probably the target audience for CCP's new EVE. They just don't care about the game enough and will leave relatively soon, so they wont mind if MTs destroys the game and universe players have been building up for years. Also they wont need much new content because they will leave soon enough. |

People who say they quit. Don't actually quit. They are just attention whoring. Its the ones that don't speak.. That quit.
If this is incorrect however, bonus to the rest of us the amount of morons in this game with 2 braincells between them decreases. Thanks for making our game better. EVE time codes 60 Days EvE Game Time |

one thing to keep in mind bro, subscriptions are 30 days long, not 1 everyone who canceled in the last 48 hours depending on their sub time could continue to play their characters till the end of said subs, thats what i am doing now. so yeah grahp doesnt mean anything yet look at it again this time next month and you will get the real truth.

Because you're not realizing something important. We WANT Eve to be salvaged. We've made our statments here and in our cancellation exit surveys, but also clinging to the hope that our efforts can wake up this company that we once loved. I hope they get themselves straightened out before our plexed up accounts run out.
