If CCP wants to increase income by Adding a vanity exchange, good!
Us older players understand how proud CCP is of thier player driven economy.
The things that we can absolutely expect from the Noble shop, Clothing, Decor, and other in station Accessories. Otherwise things that would not otherwise shift the player driven economy like, remaps, Standings, or paint jobs are also to be expected.
I support these possibilities, and honestly hope that a substantial portion of the extra revenue gets redistributed into EVEs staff. Many of the Angry players dont want to contribute to the development of "other games".
Good luck in your other projects CCP. keep it coming.

By introducing Micro-transactions CCP are simply taking the short term and lazy option since they can't be bothered making fully working expansions and game content anymore.
You don't need money to make game content, you need effort.

I support the vanity shop in all it's just they said they'd add in performance enhancing items into the shop, And that in totality is what people are mad at.

How is this assisting the player driven economy?
Let's ignore the fact that this stuff is not created by players and the rest of that supply chain. But, by introducing desireable goods into the market place that get bought with ISK that reduces the supply of ISK in the economy. That, in turn will impact the economy. In other words, all of these things, regardless of what they are, will "shift the player driven economy" to use your wording.
If you truly care about the player driven economy (personally, I find it neat but it isn't that important to me) then you would be against RMT items being available for ISK (via the route of buying PLEX).
But, since you are an older player, do you believe that CCP's envisioned business model of creating content based upon direct demand of player's purchasing it will somehow improve the bugs that have been around for years? What a system like this does is shift development resources to purchasable items while ignoring the rest of the game.
The extra revenue will then be directed towards their two other shiny projects and EVE will become a pony store. Since I like ponies, I could be okay with this. I wonder if I can get a shiny silver pony on the side of my ships? I'd pay for that!

cry cry cry.
my eve is live and kicking. great high-end gameplay from my strong community that isnt effected by anything but our own strong bonds.
edit: Plex is too old for discussion. aurum will not replace it. The other discussions of MT in that newsletter was directed at games without subscription rates like dust. MT in dust will help pay for its further development, to help it become independant from Eve's income.
Ofcourse money from EVE will be invested into DUST and WOD. It is how business works. CCP is growing the brand. Be happy that you're on board the flagship.

Yes more revenue will mean more content. The question is for what game, because I read that the dev teams for both WoD and Dust are both bigger then that of EVE. And another point: how sure are you that the extra content in EVE will actually be free? CCP obviously got the taste of Aurum now.

frankly if everyone wanted to protest, they should have logged out, instead of in. a record low weekend peak would have proved a point.

I could care less about vanity items. If players want to blow their hard earned cash on hyperoverpriced monocle that will just end up getting you primaried out of pure spite, then fine.
What I'm angry about is the internal hints and leanings towards making "other" things available on the NeX other than vanity wares. Although I understand the Greedgate newsletter is just a brainstorming forum, it's still very concerning that there are those in the decision making process who actually think that making "items of power" and "faction standings" or "gold ammo" is a good idea. The protests are pre-emptive and I think aimed at sending the message that the playerbase won't tolerate such modifications to the game.

Doesn't prove anything one way or the other. A few days have only passed since. Lots of people spreading the word with their in-game protests. Quite unreasonable to expect anyone that has time left, and passion for Eve, to not log on.
