If CCP can solemnly swear to never introduce a ship, a dress, or a cute pet droneling that adds ANY EFFECT to the game. I support it.
Pretty Ships? Yes! Pretty Dresses? Yes! Even $1000 Pants? Yes! Moncales? Yes! Non-combat Pets? Yes!
CCP vanity items are a goldmine already, even the mention of game-changing items for RMT in an INTERNAL newsletter has cost you and benefited your competition.
FOUR WORDS AND IT ALL GOES AWAY:
NOTHING BEYOND VANITY EVER.

If they could have done that, they already would have.
I'm just waiting around until the blog confirms it, which it probably won't. Because if they're honest, they lose players, if they lie, they might hold onto a few more for a while.
Little bit slow ehhhhhh?

Players have totally LOST faith and loyalty in CCP. My faith in CCP might return SoonÖ but I doubt it. |

Yep. All I want on Noble Exchange are vanity items. Fancy shuttles and stuff could be cool. Please don't offer anything that would provide a tactical edge.

They should be honest.
People will leave, so be it.
I hope i can then join an alliance that will slap the tastebuds out of the mouths of those who buy ships.

I'm fairly sure if they outright lied about it (which they wolud be if they a direct, non-ambiguous statement like the one in the OP), that wolud be grounds for some sort of fraud.
I'm not too familiar with EU law though, anyone want to clarify this?

I've said this before and I'll say it again: making us pay for vanity items is bull**** as well. No, it doesnt break the game but still I shouldnt have to pay real money for items in a game that I pay a sub for.

This essentially, from the lack of a ccp response, the mob mentality, the people unsubbing, that would have just cause a decline in players not neccesarily kill the game off. The negative press that stemmed from all this? That is typically a death sentence to mmos. Game companies regardless of how good or how innovative the product is, they live and die by the media. bad press= less new players, people baying for peoples blood that buy items that currently dont affect gameplay, eliminates even more potential subscribers. many mmos have died due to alot less, but what is ironic that apparently all this was done in an effort to sway ccp to save eve, but now its pretty much going kill it :/

Then don't pay for them. Either don't buy them at all or buy them with ISK.
I agree with this topic. I'm gone if people can buy an advantage over me.
But I LOVE EVE. I love this game, and I want it to continue and to be successful so it can keep improving and I can keep playing.
Call me crazy, but I LIKE Incarna. I'm a lorelol rpnerd inside, so I enjoy the immersion and stuff, and I know that it's going to be built on and improved and expanded beyond where it is now.
I WANT CCP TO DO WELL. BECAUSE THEN THEY KEEP MAKING THE GAME I LIKE. So, if they want to do this thing with vanity items, I say go for it. But not one slight advantage given to people who pay extra real money. Not even faction standings.

My point was, the sub fee should include the whole game. It's just wrong that ccp is now adding some "extra" you have to pay some extra to get. And if I'm not paying real money for the items, someone else is. It shouldnt be that way. I pay the sub because eve isnt some free-to-play MT circus.

Edited by: Zattakar on 26/06/2011 16:10:10 Vanity items only is a must but I'll take the demands further.
How about no more pointless expansions like Incarna and Incursions and start fixing the content thats been in the game for years? How many customers need to complain about broken faction warfare or nullsec mechanics? These types of things are what the players want not captains quarters and useless vanity items.
Eve is not a typical game. These arent typical customers you're dealing with. Listen to them already.

Not really about Vanity crap for me. It's about spending all their resources on this junk, and still unable to fix so many bugs and issues that have plagued this game for years. Any promises from them are meaningless while Hilmar ruins the company anyway.

You mean it will stop temporarily until they release non vanity items. To think they would stop just at cosmetic items is naive. You put in a 'MT' system in to make money. It's one simple jump away from a full F2P business model, which is shown to produce more profits than a subscription base. It's a game to you, it's a business to ccp. They will do whatever they deem will make them $$$ no matter if it alienates an 'old' loyal fanbase to gain a new profitable one.
