I for me call this event the "EVE of Destruction", after the song from the 60's.
Or how about Incarnaval?
---- And you tell me Over and over and over again, my friend Ah, you dont believe We're on the EVE of Destruction -------- Dominion - Tyrannis - Incursion - Incarna - Destruction |

I think it wont really matter what you name this event, because in a few weeks, the event won't even be thought of, and forgotten until all the little ****ing baby's start to cry again about something.
So name it what you want to, it wont matter. It was a protest fail in my books.

Originally by: Arrinlay Edited by: Arrinlay on 26/06/2011 17:03:04 It IS a serious question - regardless of what side you're on. What do you want this event known as? Because no matter what you think about EVE Online and CCP, this really is a special event in the history of the game - comparable to the wars that have been fought within the game itself.
"Monocle-gate" has been one suggestion. "The Incarna Incident" another. "The Jita Riot" "The War on NEX" (Playing off the 'War on Terrorism' in US) "The Capsuleer Uprising" "The Day the Space Ponies Came" "The Fearless Incident"
Please post any and all ideas for what YOU will know this event as, whether or not EVE survives into the future. 3rd part media has focused largely on the Monocle, generally missing the point of the rioters that the fear is over game-altering purchasable items in NEX. I think it can safely be said the majority of the player-base was angry about the NEX prices, but protesters and anti-protesters are divided on the direction CCP is taking.
Relative to the Theadnaught, now turned 'Threadtitan' with over 9000 posts and 300 pages, some are calling for the 400th page to dub it 'The Threadpocalypse' - Should EVE truly fall apart from this event, it truly would be the 'the thread to end all threads' in EVE Online.
UPDATES HERE
So far what's being pushed is Monoclegate, The Golden Goose Revolution, and Jita Blockade (for the actual event). Monoclegate appears to be the most popular for the entirety of the situation. As a side note, I spotted a 'Himargate' in the Threadtitan - it does rhyme closer and many say that his email is what really pushed this over the edge.
The Jita Riots or Blockade.
I do like "The Great Jita Riots of 2011". It has a very grand sound to it.

Serious question ?
How about "The biggest protest in the history of VideoGames" ?
I really believe that sounds totally appropriate.
And ... tbh ... it just fits Eve. :)
