I tried to play it for like 10 minutes but it's just such an alien experience... maybe I'm getting too old but I don't have the time or patience or brainpower capabilities to re-learn a whole new MMO even if it is very eerily similar to Eve. I prefer World of Tank's approach of instant battles and incredibly simplistic research and equipping system, was able to learn it in 10 minutes without reading any guide or tutorial.

They sound kinda needy.
It's just good customer service, they've not got to the point where they think they are more important than the customers.
Nice to be in a game where they actually appreciate their customers, so don't knock it.
I would recommend Eve but alas we don't have that type of service here at the moment, they've forgotten how to treat customers.

Wish CCP Allowed us to Customise the Paintjobs on our ships... Pink Hello Kitty Thorax RAWR! Even a Corp Logo slapped onto your ships would be cool. But no, we are stuck with MT and CQ that serve F*** ALL Purpose.. Not raging fyi, just thinking aloud.

No. Good customer service is being met with a smile, being listened to and rapid responses to inquiries. Unless we're talking about an automated generic greeting messages, welcoming each new customer individually is a waste of time, and if they have that many GMs per player, they should probably reconsider where they are hiring people.
While it might work in the very early days of a game, don't be delusional - devs can't keep it on a personal level if a game grows substantially. Having a close relationship between customers and devs/GMs happens for most small games, but it won't stay that way.

So?, at a few thousand people a 12 (or was it 18?) man dev team will mean it's pretty successful for them.
Not to mention, that was when eve was at it's best..
And tbqh, I think having GM's greet new players and help them with any issues is a great use of resources, it made me decide to get a subscription (including the fact that the game is good), and whenever any of us have had any issues etc, we are *immediately* being helped. Instead of you know wait 1-2 weeks for a non working answer....

Nice, what's the doctorate to fly spaceships and fight in massive fleet ops while being immortal?
But then again there isn't one is there? So I'll just have to remain a gamer even if it's not playing spreadsheets in space. |

See subsection about pink robots. But to their credit, the micro-transactions are micro... get this:
Quote: but since robots are pretty short-lived and packing one will also make it revert to its default color (just like paint decay), it probably wonĘt be too heavy on your wallets.
That is MT, probably done in a better way.

I have played Perpetuum.
The communication between the Devs and the community is really top notch.
Whilst the game has had some minor issues, they really seem to be focussing on making sure features work and enhance what players want to do.
Rather than saying to players 'this is what you will be doing' (ie the current EVE online model), they seem to be working with players.
Plus the game is cheaper per month.
And you will be able to have pink robots.

"First of all we'd like to welcome the influx of new players to Perpetuum. The sheer number of new players caught us by surprise, and we're working around the clock to accommodate each and every one of you."
Customer service. CCP should learn a ****ing thing.
Damn right. CCP take note of their attentiveness. Idiots.

From what I understand, Perpetuum is pretty much built on old Eve code... It's ugly, but the obvious benefits are there, if you give it a chance. Think of it as Eve from 2003. You're a pioneer. :D
(Unless CCP decides to pull their head out of their ass, then i'll be back here so fast, I may tear a hole in the space/time continuum)

Quote: Another troll comes from EVE to Perp. Awesome.
Quote: Just started yesterday, the game has great potential =] My first impressions doing the tutorial was great except for the speed - from what I've read this isn't a new topic. Possible solutions - Some kind of not-in-combat use boooster (turbo, antigrav, booster rockets) that you could train to use. This would function as a mount as in WOW etc, or Afterburner / Microwarpdrive as in EVE. Also, one thing that would, in my opinion, should be in the game is the availability to 'jump' or 'fall' down steeper areas rather than artificially elongating the game just to get to a mission waypoint. The game is meant to be fun right? Taking 10 minutes to walk oh so slowly to your destination just to pop a bad guy then 10 minutes walk back is just way too painful... No fun.
Poor perpetuum. They have no idea what they're in for.

This just in: Perpetuum infiltrates CCP, internal newsletter exposed, mass influx of players to perpetuum online.
The interface for Perpetuum looks/looked so much like Eve in the old days, it really makes you wonder don't it?

Poor Perptuum.
Forums already full of whiny demanding ex-EVE players telling them how they should be doing stuff.
Enjoyed that little read.

Originally by: Harcosi I hope people aren't joining to protest, Perpetuum has a really cool game going, with a lot of potential. And some really cool Devs as well, they dont' deserve that.
You sir are not an Eve player,
An eve player would say this "I hope you all use Perpetuum and when you quit to go back to that old ass game of eve you will send me your stuff"
So sir,
Contract me your stuff as you so love your gumby eve knock off game so much more.

Wait a minute. If Perpetuum is built on the old Eve code, wouldn't that meant that the game is operating with "stolen property"? Don't forget that CCP is fully aware that a prior version of their Eve client was reverse engineered and leaked to the public or to its competitors. CCP could have a case against Perpetuum if they had enough evidence (which doesn't seem so hard considering the similarities). But then again, Apple wasn't able to stop Microsoft from continuing to sell its Windows OS (even though it was based off of an old Macintosh OS source code - which was stolen by Bill Gates).
