Edit - Actually, after the first month I had alts in Rens and Dodixie too doing the same.

NAV or wallet? If NAV, all I did was posting on the forums and buy and then sell 1 item on the markets. I also have a BPO research facility but it's not an huge revenue at all, I mostly keep it to research / invent my own stuff.

Ahhhh the days when they were useless and sold for about 100 isk each. I took a massive gamble and sunk every spare penny I had into buying as many of these suckers as I could, in the unfounded hope that one day CCP would make them useful.
These days I mainly do trade, because I'm lazy.

Actually, I'm a bit more recent than that (started Aug/Sept 2009). They were already useful by this time but that may have been a relatively recent development as you could pick them up in Amarr for between 200 and 225 and sell them in Jita for c. 250. The profit margin stayed at roughly 10% for something like 4 months until someone(s) started manipulating the market in Jita (something still going on to this day, I believe). Volumes were the key thing as 4-5k units per day was fairly easily doable and one day just before Christmas 2009 I even managed to grab 10k units (I guess many of the student players were away from their machines as competition disappeared for a few days). Running 3-4bil cargos of salvage through the Amarr-Jita pipe in a t1 frigate two or three times a day kept me nicely topped up with adrenalin!

First 50 = buy low, sell high. Basically abused people's laziness and it took about a year. Second 50 billion = same thing but expanded to 3 toons and took about 3/4 a year doing it extreemly partime. Third 50 billion = Currently 37 billion in about 2 months. Was able to take advantage of a some special sitiuations.
This is all in NAV, I'm down to about 17bil in cash n escrow.
Have a 4th toon in the pipeline but stopped the training process because I really cbf to put him to work. The only reason I keep doing it is because it's like picking money up off the floor.
I've shown 2 friends how to do what I do and at first I met some resistance because they didn't believe it could be so simple. Now they are both paying for multiple accounts with pure plex.
The moral? It's really simple. Buy low, sell high... you just need to figure out the where and what.

Character Trading
Find a toon that has potential that no-one is interested in because it cant do what they want out the box. Train it up for a few months to make it sparkly. Sell it and by this time buyers will bite your arm off.
Not doing it any more as cba.

Did the same thing here. Had up to 6 accounts just incubating bargain character into fotm's for a fairly quick turn-over, average polish took 3-6 months depending on what I was shaping them into. Easiest money I ever made.

This is just a ruff estimate as its been too long to remember all the ways how I made isk:
1# Mining (use to make about 50b in about 80 hours or less "10 accounts", currenlty take about 250 hours) 2# Patch Speculation (100-500% profits 3-4 months) 3# Capital Ship Production (use to make 50-100% profits, currently only 10%) 4# Super Capital Production (Use to make 100-150% profits, currently about 25-75%) 5# Buy Orders in Jita Selling in 0.0 (30-40% profits) 6# Buy and sell in jita (10-20% profits)
Enjoy .

Edited by: Shay Shay on 28/06/2011 20:23:13 In somewhat chronological order:
I started life as a ratting dope somewhere in 2007, didn't have much direction. Stumbled upon a friendly newb corp in a few months and by the end of the year they trusted me implicitly. Needless to say, I got my start scamming this corp. Retired that character a few weeks after making away with a nice group of BPOs. Later the same year I started what I expected to be an even better swindler character, trained for research/industry crap, and found my way into a slightly more affluent carebear corp. As luck would have it there was not much to steal from these people. They were smarter, more cautious, but just as friendly. I played the waiting game to see if I could push my luck and started a second account to ease the boredome.
Somewhere between my second and third characters I found my way into trading. My most recent character became a station monkey and I continued to ply my wicked diplomacy with the indy corp. Nearly a year later I was still looking for my window, barely active, but still in the good graces of the leadership. My trader had begun to really take off as i'd had a good eye for the market. I had the idea of providing one of the more influential members of the corp incentive to trust me. Over a period of a few weeks I found out exactly what he was producing and crashed the market with my trade alt. The stubborn vet was aroused from his bitter slumber after two solid weeks of producing at-cost or worse, and began grumbling in corp chat. I told him that I had better luck in other hubs and that he should work with me to see better returns.
So I had a fun game going with him, he would contract me goods one week, I would throttle back on screwing his market and he would see increased returns. After a month of this, he decided that I was clearly the greatest asset the corp had ever had and I rose quickly in the corp ranks. I surveyed my new position in the corp to see what kind of heist might be possible from my new position, but sadly there was still not much for the taking. These vets were relatively smart and had personal caches. It dawned on me then, that perhaps I had been going about this the wrong way. I took my leave of the corp and set myself on a new course. One that would prove to be the most halariously simple and effective scam I had ever pulled off: My own corporation.
I left that corp on good terms, insisting that I wanted to create a haven for new players and provide them with incentive to enjoy the game with a group of friends. Several members of my last corp decided that this was indeed noble and came to help me recruit for my "all things pve rookie corp." Things settled just as I had planned. With three of my lackeys recruiting around the clock we soon had nearly a hundred members clamouring for direction. I assigned "mission commanders," and "mining operations," as well as "professional haulers," extremely limited roles and acces to token junk that I had picked up over the years. Some, predictably, "scammed," and ran off with an iteron I or a retriever, but the majority stayed and quickly filled (my) corp wallet with isk from bounties. I ran this racket for almost three years, using their own minerals to build cheap ships (the token gifts) and siphoning off billions of isk in corporate funds to increase my trader's capital.
At the end of those three years I had nearly 425bil from the corp as well as my trading business plus the profits from the stolen BPOs. I finally decided that my fortune had been made. Not interested in keeping up the "I love newbies," charade any longer. I emptied the corp wallet for the last time, sold the character, and rode off into the sunset. My trader, inexorably linked to my corp director scam, soon followed. I bought a new trader soon after, and started training a pvp alt. I haven't really worried about isk since that time.

Make freinds and nevar ever ever f&&k them over. That help me make a ton of isk.
See what everyone is doing and do somthin else.
First 6-7 years I made no real isk in eve at all. Maybe 5 bil most ever.
Last 2 years decided to stop being a pvp scrub with no isk and set out to make a some kinda huge passive income for myself.
So now my NAV is nice but locked up and making me about 70-80 bil a year and involves less mouse clicks per year than a single fleet fight.
Ow and be lucky.
