I am looking for financial advice for my new corporation: Looking Glass Models, Eve's Premiere Modelling and Escort Service.
Need:- Male and female escorts may be needed for bars, parties, gatherings, to hang out with, to look tough/good with.
- Models may be needed for promotions and apparel modelling.
Goal:- Maintain a service where clients can book models/escorts online, and be able to select additional services, e.g. model and apparel.
Plan:
Recruit directors or managers for Recruitment, Advertisement, Accounting and Website Management.
Recruit or register a large number of models. Models need not be in corp. A mailing list may update all registered models about bookings/offers. Preferably models may be updated via email directly from the website.
The website will have portfolios of all models (in addition to the booking service). Each model may have different profiles (change in apparel, hair, make up) that clients could select. Client may have a favourites list, or specify 2nd and 3rd choice for a booking etc.
All payments will be to corp. Corp will give 90% of the jobĘs payment to the model. Models may decide their own rates, if they so desire. These will be levied in addition to the basic charge. Corp takes 10% of all charges.
Services may be charged:- Per hour
- Flat rate for events
- Possibly a flat charge for each additional service
Am looking for advice on:
- How much to charge?
- Is the 10% corp tax sufficient/too much?
- How should the Directors/Managers/Corp employees be paid?
- What should the policy be when a model does not show up for a job?
- What problems do you foresee?

Saw "escort service", read "prostitution in Incarna has arrived".
I like the idea of what you're -actually- proposing, but it's somewhat reliant on the new Establishments features that we've had hints of, etc etc.

Uhhh I don't think this would work, were still imprisoned in our quarters / grounded by CCP at the moment. So I doubt you'd be able to much less likely to visit someone else's quarters let alone start cyber sexing like second life or some weird sims game.

Obvious Problem:
Most everyone playing this (with some exceptions) Is a man.
Are you going by shapely avatars, real life sex, or what?

Now here is a bit of innovation.
The Problems I Foresee:
- Not Truly Viable Until Station Walking Is Plausible - Small Market Base (Though I could be mistaken!)
Honestly though, you have a unique idea, and I'm always supportive of that... I'd say get a solid plan together, make your "Rates" agreeable, and be all ready for when full station walking rolls out. The rate you charge is up to you, and so is the amount you take as a corporation. 10% doesn't seem outrageous. If the model doesn't show... always have a back-up! :)
I'd be interested in hearing how you came up with the idea and such as well :)

Edited by: Liberty Eternal on 28/06/2011 17:16:07 It depends - if they are actually willing to engage in real promotional work, to remain "on-message" and to patiently sit through advertising camera work etc, then your more established "celebrities" may become worth a great deal.
That's assuming you can find the talent and promote it. Most of your income will come from a top few people - but if you can find or make one "star" you could earn billions by focusing the attention of EVE's player-base onto the new wave of real-money websites that should soon be launching.
As for the escort/friendship work - obviously female voices/avatars will command more for that kind of thing. Make sure you don't find yourself on the wrong end of your country's prostitution or sexual harassment laws though
Edit: also, are you a model in real life? If not, you might want to find someone with experience to help you.

Am starting the service now, so I can register models and have the service ready when the doors open to stations.
Whether models accept private "modelling" offers, will be up to them. Looking Glass Models will not offer cyber intercourse services. Think there may be enough of a market without resorting to the oldest profession. _________________________________ Sylvia von Harden Looking Glass Models |

As I said I think it's a great idea if just for it's uniqueness. I'm interested to see where it goes. Dropped you an EVE-Mail to hear some more details on your ideas/how much you've thought it out.

First off, very original idea!
As to what to charge, think of it in terms of time and how much you'll pay the models. Now, models will probably be the newer players, not likely older players (my guess) and you'd want to compare the time spent to the time spent just sitting in high sec mining or running low level missions. Pay the models a few million an hour. Add a few more million on top of that and I think you have the answer.
Just my initial thoughts on it.

FWIW, I could see bringing in "security" and/or arm candy (depending on the event in question) for RP reasons when coming to shindigs in Incarna, especially MD shindigs.

Eve is an RPG, and men know that >90% of women in Eve are not really female. I do not anticipate this to be too much of a problem. There could be a market for RL females controlling female avatars. They could be promoted as such.
I also see a need for burly, ugly avatars that could escort you in difficult meetings.
Plain avatars may be hired as crowd in certain situations. So anyone with a bit of free time may escort. _________________________________ Sylvia von Harden Looking Glass Models |

A field trip to an escort service may be in the offing. Better still, I could get the client's perspective by going through the entire process I do not know anyone related to modelling in RL, thus not sure how to get help. Possibly a book?

How about: 15-20m per hour for ugly avatars or those who agree to low fees 25m per hour for good looking avatars. Basic rate. Different offers for events from 50-100m
Additional charges: Selected model available: 25m (client can nominate 3 or more) Apparel/Hair/Make-up selection by client: 50m Profile select: 25m (otherwise model will go as is) Model personal booking fee: Any amount determined by model
Think these are on the lower side? _________________________________ Sylvia von Harden Looking Glass Models |

I would avoid trying to have "Set" fees for the time being. Take the time to get to know your employees. Find out the ones who have a natural knack for being a social butterfly. Those are the ones who will earn you return business... and of course the burly fellows that can play a good intimidating role. All in all I think pay/rates should be performance based, as in the better they are, the higher they are able to charge. Perhaps forming some kind of baseline as a introductory rate.

I do believe the OP said that "cybersexing" wasn't in the agenda. This service is directed at RP'ers looking to enrich their experience once station walking happens.

I see what you are getting at, but there are plenty of less "weird" uses behind it. Public events, security guards, recruiters, ... There are a lot of possibilities that don't include a romantic endeavor.

You have two major problems:
1). The target market is exceptionally small. You're only appealig to a very small amount of RPers.
2) What you offer has no rarity. Anyone can make a "model". You need to be able to argue why your product has a rarity that can be duplicated for free.
It's a unique idea, but unique does not imply value. Still some work left to be done.

Agreed. I admire the idea though, and I'm going to be keeping a close eye on progression. Just a matter of creating the demand for "your" models as opposed to just some joe-smoe

You need to be able to argue why your product has a rarity that can be duplicated for free. 1) Celebrity look-a-likes 2) Bizarro escorts: instead of having a beautiful model follow me, I would pay money for a really ugly/creepy looking guy to follow others.
Target market is small, and advertisement will be challenging. My hope rests on getting the message to lonely rich men, who may pay for a party in their quarters. Just for the experience of having 10 people in there. Just because the service exists.
We could arrange these gatherings, have them taped and the highlights uploaded to you tube as proof of the client's active social life in Eve.
What we offer is not unique, but an escort in station is more fun than an alt. You may have limited friends that you can request to be there. They may be busy. We (may) have 500 models, and one of them is likely to be free when you need him/her.
Having said all that, the market is small and difficult to target.
Certainly a place for celebrity lookalikes.
The idea of a stalking service is exciting, as it has great potential. All those people who put bounties on enemies's heads will pay for stalking in stations. We could have a side business of providing stalking services, with a sister operation providing security services (guards) to the stalked. _________________________________ Sylvia von Harden Looking Glass Models |

Jokingly I suggested this before. I suppose someone in Eve could do it ... but I also understand, though have no GM confirmation, that offering 'cyber services' of this nature, which of course you may flatly deny is your goal, is not allowed. So, do be careful. You may want to file a petition directly and ask what you can and can not offer in this regard.
My faith in CCP will return SoonÖ We'll watch what you do not what you say.

I dont know how good the eve voice one is, but I know the TS & Vent ones can be set up VERY nicely

As stated earlier, we do not plan to offer sexual services, but there are bound to be such connotations associated with all escort services.
As advised, I'll file a petition. Best to know the limitations. _________________________________ Sylvia von Harden Looking Glass Models |

They'll be hard pressed to incorporate a line item for "Look-a-likes" a new user who has never logged into the game or even read the forums could create a Chribba look-a-like out of pure chance. What is CCP going to do, ban them, lose a customer for good? Over what? Just happen to create a character that looks identical to a "Game Celebrity?" I don't think so.
