Space Vampires take over sov in 0.0 I can see it now. They can buy teeth upgrades on the NEX market for only 80000 aurum.

Thats a lie and ur a hypocrite. We've been paying you for years to develop EVE but your company has spent every penny(and then some to the brink of bankruptcy) developing OTHER games.
Where do you find it in yourself to continue lying to your customers.
Please identify the error in my statements and I'll gladly explain.

Originally by: Khamelean You describe Dust as life limited, but i have to disagree. If your mean limited by the lifespan of the console, there is no reason why it couldn't be ported to the PS4 when it arrives.
We are talking about CCP here... how long did it take them to get Eve out for Mac let alone port something to another console?

If your so convinced that all CCP's development efforts are directed at WoD, why would they cripple it's release by forcing it to share already overloaded servers? Your conspiracy theories make no sense. At least be consistent with your distrust and speculation.
*Shrugs* Eve can choke on one blade on the end of it's "commertial life" for all they care, they'll have a new shiny emo MMO instead. How's that for a theory? |

Ok, enough trolling (please!) ... lol, on these forums? yeah... I can dream.
Some hint or clue as to what may be on the cards, re: server (re)allocation for WoD and how this will effect Eve would be of interest to both trolls and to less serious posters alike.

To be honest I think it was more fun in 2006 than it is now. Better looking doesn't imply 'better' game. Yea there are cool features, yea it looks cool, but there's so much going wrong with it that isn't even seemingly to be addressed or worked on it's ridiculous.
If I wanted eye candy in a game I wouldn't pay 15 a month for it. I want content and a game that stands on its own for being awesome! Not some shiny object I get the 'privilege' to log in to stare at, as long as I'm paying for it... Unless there's strippers. AUG those plz.

Don't you get it? BOOSTing REVENUES is TOP PRIORITY now. Not features that won't boost revenues.

I should imagine it's simple.
If eve is profitable to run it'll run.
I for one will gladly support vanity only MT, increased subscription cost and paid expansions to keep playing eve.

But they don't need vanity MT or increased subs to maintain or even develop Eve. That extra money is for developing their 2 new games.

Incase you forgot their target metrics for per player spending on eve.
Increasing subscriptions to $250 PERM ONTH MINIMUM PER PLAYER.
Lets not forget their leadership targets.
WoD will get priority. Eve is that 2nd child that begs for attention.

Every penny? Really? Dominion Tyranis Incursion Incarna turret system renovation carbonio and bluenet: next level network technology gridlock, monikers, and cpu-per-user
Thats just some of the dev blogs on the first page.
You could argue that your not a fan of some of any of these things, but to say the CCP is not spending resources on Eve is a bold faced lie.

But when you **** off enough of the customers the way CCP has been doing, your product life gets much shorter.

And all these core things can be used on their other MMO product.
Eve is a testing ground for MT, for Carbon, for load balanding, for everything really.
Those little expansions you seen are really little, oh some new AI script, big deal, Live events got canned, and became a script called Incursions. Cheaper to replace somebody's time with a small script.
Yeah lets talk about Incarna expansion, it is a Trojan Horse for one sole purpose, A Microtransaction shop to BOOST revenue. Great expansion, it was focused on greatly (the shop part).

Of course eve is going to fund future projects for CCP. You think Blizzard pulled WoW out of a hat without Warcraft/Starcraft funding? You expect CCP to just stand by and watch eve stagnate and die over time as it will. Theres a lot more competition now than 8 years ago. Sure its got a niche market but other developers will be constantly planning on how to tap it, thats just the way it is. Sooner or later there will be some real competition for eve.
Sure Dust isn't going to be that great long term. WoD stands a chance at turning a profit. All I can hope is that WoD is successful and gives CCP the diversity it needs.

Calling the Team Gridlock load balancing team a testbed for technology for their new games is unfair. 0.0 residents had been screaming about lag for months, and they were set up in response to that demand. And they've apparently made a lot of progress too.

It is practice and learning experiences for the future MMO's scalability. Solve the problems now, use that later so you don't get those problems on the prize product.

It'll also be instanced because by the looks of things, any more than half a dozen Incarna style avatars in one place would cause top of the line CPUs to melt:)

They can always ditch Eve onto some Dell server they have laying around and then free up some nodes.
Accept it, looking at black space just gets depressing, for ffs Eve doesn't have any spacial effects to brighten up space.
Just DULL black.
At least other Genre's have COLOUR.
