Ever since the last patch I have been crashing like this, the GPu fans shoot up but temprature doesn't get higher than about 76'c ambient stays at 28'c.
I have tried SLI on and off, increasing the base fan temp, vsync on and off but I just keep crashing, my corp ceo had his graphics card burn out this morning from the exact same thing and several others are also having graphic related crashes, so I know it just isn't me.
So here is the deal anyone work out what is going on yet?

WoW, nice attitude son, didn't know that a Nv570GTX was inferior.

More directed at the people that seem to do nothing but whine about their 3 year old hw is having issues with doing what it did before.
See above, a Nv570GTX is not 3 year old. my E8400 might be but shes puring along @ 4Ghz and is able to run Blackshark and DCS:A-10 at max setting yet has troubles running 2 clients on low shader, 3 clients gives me BSOD wtf?
Before incarna I was running 6 clients on high no problems . There is something seriously wrong with this "incarnation" since I was able to run all 6 on sisi before patch rollout.

Running 3 clients @ 1600x900 with max settings (no AA) temps around 65 degrees centigrade on quad core intel with an old 9800GT. GPU fan manually set to 75% and have profile set for fan to kick 100% @ 70 degrees (it does on a hot day). My old laptop with inel integrated gfx (GMA4500) runs 3 clients on min settings has had one BSOD since incarna but tbh i kinda expected it would as the case gets hot. Now only use laptop if I need to change skills etc.

I think the real problem here is that you either need to know a lot about computer insides and maintenance, or have a very high spec machine to run EVE on decent settings now, even though the graphical quality of the game has not actually improved one bit.
There's an argument to be made that everyone these days should become educated in computer technology, but I think the days when "computer gamer = computer nerd" are long gone. So, more complaints will be made because many people don't know how or can't afford to fix or upgrade their machines. I don't think it makes sense to expect that everyone will be able to keep up with the "advancing???" technology of the game.
I think CCP would reach a wider audience if they made the game client easy to run and easy to use, the game system itself is a complex enough hurdle. Maybe just more performance scaling options, like disabling CQ (permanently, the current option is temporary) or limiting unneeded animations. For space flight, I think an option to disable all textures would help a bit - just show solid colors.

i was able to get CQ running stable (semi, but no GFX issues), at MAX settings, on a ati HD3850 with *gasp* 256mb of vram. one thing i noticed about the ATI card in that rig is this...even after cleaning the heatsinks/ect, still had heat issues creep up. So i downloaded rivatuner to check things out. turns out the gpu fan (even @ 100% gpu load) never kicked up above 80% (not sure of the exact %, but i NEVER heard the gpu fan.) when loading the cq, i would force the gpu fan to spin up to 100% at 90+% GPU load. instantly my gpu temps dropped from 90+c to rock solid at 72C.
YMMV.

O.o. he did say 'when looking in the mirror' to be fair, and I can't check atm, but I don't think my 5770 gets that low even looking in the mirror, and it's not that much faster than a 5750... and I *do* have my settings jacked way high. With probably a much weaker CPU and lower bandwidth RAM than he likely has.
AA is off. It's a brand new system with a 1200w PS. Phenon II x 4 / 2.8 / 4gig I haven't had any heating issues that I've been able to see, CQ simply doesnt run well. And on my two backup computers, it doesn't run worth crap. Any other game runs maxed out without issues, and flying in space and firefights run without issues or lag. I can only assume that CCP either got carried away in the details or wrote more of the sloppy code they are famous for.
