Very nice report, shows just how powerful RR is in the right hands and how godly a properly drilled triage carrier crew can be.
Also shows that supers are nigh impossible to kill without supers though, so 'meh'

Brilliant writeup there Maldoror. Easy to read and entertaining. I also appreciate the explanation of the tactics; to younger FC's like myself a good AAR can really help and give ideas. CEO Enlightened Industries |

Thanks for the comments. As for logged supers, yes, certainly a lot of EHP to chew through. At that hour of the morning and far from home, it wasn't possible to bring in enough firepower although once the Levi was in one super nearly fell short of the timer.
There was a fight recently (the report is somewhere on FHC) where we attacked what became of a total of 23 caps (of which 8 were supers). We had about 25 bs with heavy Guardian support & we were able to kill off most of the normal caps and one Wyvern. But a Nyx disappeared in half-armour and same for the rest. I think that sort of thing is par for the course really, given supercapital EHP. Even if you win a fight, mass-logging of supercaps will always result in most of them surviving if you don't have overwhelming firepower. But as long as there's an awesome fight before the the supers log, I don't mind too much. ------------------------------ Last Video - Ironclad. New one soon |

Originally by: Lord Maldoror However, don't underestimate the Archon's cap recharge. On our normal fit triage carrier, it's +791 cap/second with implants. So with two local reps runnig that would be 791 - 427 = 364 cap/second.
With 3x CPR II in the lows, 4x CR in the mids, 3x CCCs, strong mindflood and CR10 + CC10 implants I'm just getting +736.1. What am I missing?
one capacitor power relay. archon has 7 lowslots ----------------------------------------------

I had a fit with 4x CPR & single resist mod (without Mindflood) in mind to get the 791. In fact with the CR10 + CC10 you mention it would be 807 cap/second on that build - I count the triage pilots as having '8s for implants rather than the '10s. With Mindflood there would then be even more of course. But the problem with Mindflood is that it shares slot 1 with Exile, and a situation like that needs a Strong Exile. ------------------------------ Last Video - Ironclad. New one soon |

i was dancing on razorblade (as in skirting on the edge of triage rep range to maximize my dps, being in a blasterthron. yes, in a fleet) for much of the fight (sry shani). the chimera pairs that made it out, you truly are some lucky sods :)
i enjoyed it, as anyone would. even MM, while humbled, was friendly and tip their hats to us on the way out. ---------------------- What happens in Pelennor stays in Pelennor.

I can't speak for him but I'm going to do it anyway. He means that that it's unlikely that they were Talisman fitted, but the way he wrote suggests that they were Talisman fitted even though that's not what he meant.
99% sure :P

As in, they probably would not be HG talisman fit, so the calculation example in my reply didn't include the reduced neut cycle time of talisman. I suppose the shield tanking supers could be, if they are not using a Nomad set (faster hit and run). But I'd certainly expect Aeons and Nyx to be HG slave. ------------------------------ Last Video - Ironclad. New one soon |

Its indeed very unlikely to have supercaps sporting a talisman set. An energy Aeon might use one but that would prolly use transfers instead of neuts even though supporting the energy transfers with talismans is very effective, even in guardians. But dedicated energy transfer ships are rather rare, most alliances prefer to mix it up with remote reps.

I'll echo my comments from the FHC thread. This was the most intense and enjoyable triage fights that I can remember. We do have some fraps from this fight although I'm fail as I forgot to turn mine on in the heat of the moment so there's no triage perspective of the fight.

This is one of the best battle reports I have read in Eve on Carrier tactics. (I will add this link to my page about carrier tactics as it exemplifies what carriers are able to do.)
I should add that I applaud your openness to putting into your report tactics that many Alliances would never talk about as others obviously will read this and possibly use these tactics even against your group. But there is a quote that you should appreciate:
"In today's environment, hoarding knowledge ultimately erodes your power. If you know something very important, the way to get power is by actually sharing it." Joseph Badaracco

Great read, thanks! Just a question on HICs: how do they survive while tackling supers? They can't get remote reps and are probably neuted to hell, aren't they?

multiple HICs, the prime can switch off scripted point to receive remote rep till the damage stops. they also inject (cap 200 are plenty enough to maintain point) to counter neuts. ---------------------- What happens in Pelennor stays in Pelennor.

Oh I am sure its out of pure self-interest that they do it, same as when PL happily publishes their nuggets. Best way to get the "good fight" is if the opponent thinks he has you figured out and likes his chances ..

Great thread! I'm sure expert piloting was happening on all fronts, Always a pleasure getting titan bridged by R&K :) btw...
...But I would like to note that I personally do not agree with caps being able to refit inside other caps...without which I do not believe you would have been able to hold your own. Though I understand this was by no means easy and in no way reduces the excellence of this thread...it just doesn't sit right with me :)

Out of curiosity, when primaried and fitted for tanking, did the carrier use local repper(s) or instead fit 100% for resists and rely entirely on the other carrier for repping?
