Would you recommend it to a friend?
A family member?
Or your worst enemy?
For me, no, not any more. At one point I'd have recommended it with qualifiers about the pacing of gameplay, the griefing, and the general EVE ethos. Right around the Tyrranis expansion, CCP stopped caring about the customer (18months). The customer called for a change in CCP's attitude, but it's abundantly clear that CCP is run by accountants, not gamers. (And I mean the CEO, and all the other marketing slugs you see center stage at fanfest.) Now I could only recommend EVE to watch the very slow motion train wreck. |

Most certainly I would recommend Eve to my friends û particularly as now CCP are clearly making an effort to provide the game with more accessible facade. I very much like the first step of Incarna and the new tutorials are a huge improvement. |

Absolutely yes 6 months ago, definitely not now as it's unplayable, and I'ld be a hypocrit to suggest it when I'm quitting myself. Maybe in the future, if CCP doesn't manage to **** it up, which it seems pretty hard-set to actually.

EVE is a long term MMO and previously I wouldn't be worried about what direction the game would take so even with changes I didn't know about I'd trust them to be in EVE's/our favour. And any criticisms those new players would have (buggy UI, overview, stuff being "weird") I could counter with "but it's awesome and I'm sure they're working on it".
Now I don't know what to think or to expect:, Sell out? going F2P with expensive MT? staying P2P with MT? No commitment to actually work on spaceships but rather focus on "WoD Alpha in space"? Weird decisions making me think they're doing a money grab (which is bad enough in itself but is most of the times a last effort before ditching).
I just can't recommend it, I wish I could. I'm not sure CCP's version of "awesome" is like mine.

Atm no, really. EVE is no shortterm game, if you want to do anything meaningfull it takes months, years.
The current state of affairs does not inspire enough trust so that i would recommend anyone to invest years of their time into the game.
For short flicks there are other games that do that way way better. Now, once EVE totally goes that way, maybe you can recommend it for that. But its not even NEAR to those games. |

Sure. Been playing for soon 6 years and been to 2 fanfests, and see no problem recommending this game to anyone who love sci-fi games! Nothing have changed really to the game that would warrant not to!

In the past, it was the forums that got me interested in EVE Online. Guess those days are over. Maybe CCP will create a new forum and purge the old one. Now that's a customer management system(CMS)!

LMAO! Reverse psychology, it always works. Except when CCP tries to sell Monocles.
ATM I wouldn¦t even make myself know as someone partaking of a CCP product.
Monoclegate has made this game and it¦s player an even bigger laughing stock than the "spreadsheets in space" accusations. Maybe sometime next year, when Dust-beta has raised some curiosities and there are actually 4 fricken cupboards around. |

Not really, I was the kind of guy that sold via STEAM the 5$ special offers of EVE Online to friends and relatives, talked about EVE to people and managed to engage in interesting conversations regarding the Economy, the Quarterly Newsletter, the CSM and many other things, but not anymore.
Why? Buthertz, QQ, sad panda faces, tears for the minmatar engines, loop /wrists, you name it, to me it was simply a matter of principle. I will remain active for a while as my sub is year long, but like many others have slowly backed off supporting the game and I'm sliding it next to my RIFT hate list.
That's me though, the new batch of people will find this interesting enough or boring enough to make its own conclusions. Like a CCP Apologist once said referring to an issue that has nothing to do with my self-righteous indignation, it's not 2003 anymore. So obviously, me being me and seeing the influx of faceless youngsters flooding these threads I'm compelled to do the opposite out of principle and love of my own ideals in this world.
Will remain here seeing how the game progresses and will make a final choice in about 10 months.
TLDR: no, EVE sux, I won't reccomend it anymore to anyone, specially after the absurd video of Gallente beating Amarr<or anything for that matter>, that was the most out of touch promo video of EVE ever, so the "I was there", became the "OMG WTH /facepalm" video. |

Yes I would recomend it. It was a fun 2 years learning about eve. Some things interested me some didn't, but no regrets.
If you don't have much time to devote to computer games I don't think the game is much fun beyond 2 years though. At that point you either commit lots of time to the game or gtfo. At least as long as fw remains broken.

I'm afraid not. I HATE saying this! I've been playing EVE since I was 13, I'm now almost 21. I used to brag about EVE so much that you would think CCP are paying me for marketing. Now I'm completely silent.

As much as i disagree with the direction the game may taking in the future - yes. I would recommend this game to my friends (i do it quite a lot). BUT, i recommend it ONLY to people who i know have not an attention span of a one-day fly.
And besides, i think Eve is still THE BEST space-mmo out there. Flame me if you want, i have my opinion and i keep it. If CCP manages to **** up, i will just silently leave. No rage - because this would sadden me. |

I used to allways brag about EVE and how great it was (in current job there are loads of WoW players). However given the recent events and the fact that Incarna is a great steaming pile of poo and slows my computer to a crawl and kills any attamept to multi box, nah I would'nt recomend EVE to anyone. |

Most definitly YES.
Even after the last few eve problems(communication)
Eve offers something you can not find in any other game. No not even in perpetiuum (or how its called)
A good communitie a multi diverse gameplay (something for everybuddy) and Everybuddy on 1 servercluster (deducting the chinees and jananees server) Yes even you could make a diffrence mentality. |
