The monocle is still ridiculously priced! No, I don't want any vanity item but it shows how greedy a company is. You would have thought that they would have learned from their mistake and actually brought the price down but they haven't! To me that shows how greedy they are (all evidence is proof to that as well, please refer to the leaked newsletter). They are apologising for the leaked content but yet they are not doing anything about it... So what good is the apology then?

Ps- the leaked content was all "ideas", not definite future plans, it was a discussion, that CCP have to have had, as it is their business, yeah, sweet

These are leisure/status items that I have ZERO use for and do not effect my EVE gameplay in ANY way. People will pay whatever for whatever and this social experiment is WAI.

That items is head above heels higher than anything else in the EVE store and they sell plenty. Price points are in the eye of the individual buyer.

Personally I'd have thought those who use PLEX for game time would be happy at the high prices, certainly as the NEX store is effectively the first PLEX sink (aside from blowing them up). The fact that CCP have gone in with high prices to make sure it doesn't inflate the PLEX price too much I would have thought would be something that those who use ISK to buy PLEX would be grateful for (though I understand not introducing a PLEX sink at all would please some people more). As for it being a money grab to support their business, well that's what businesses do - make money! And just as EVE will fund WoD and DUST these will in turn fund other games, or even future development of EVE. Also in this case they're not forcing anyone to take part in buying virtual items, they've even offered and in game way of accumulating the items, it's simply their for those that want to make use of it. Personally I've played this game for a few years and tried most everything with varying levels of success, I even like to role play a little and play in character from time to time and NEX offers one more way for me to help develop my character in the game if I choose to use it. Now that we know there's going to be no game changing items my biggest concern is making sure CCP deliver content affordable to newer players so they can take part. Other than those that have no interest in it can already choose not to use it.

The NeX shop and Incarna just confirmed my suspicion that this game will never go anywhere, or reach a state beyond early beta quality. It's a damn shame because the original framework is one of the best ideas ever, but CCP is not the company able to give it the treatment it deserves.

Anyone who can afford to shell out $15.00 USD/month for a damn computer game should be able to pay 4, 5 or 6 times that amount ( more even I say ) for a junky looking piece of digital crap that does nothing and can be destroyed when they get podded. Anyone who understands wearing $1000 designer jeans understands this. Just think of how happy you'll feel when your friends ask you: "You paid how much for that and then it got blown up?!"...

It calmed down because CCP stated, officially, that it didn't plan on p2w and that lower-priced items would be introduced into the NEX. As for the monocle prices... who cares? I never wanted one even on SiSi, as I thought they were rather cheesy looking. On TQ, they've become what monocles were: A tacky display of (virtual) wealth. All the above-mentioned issues were discussed, addressed, discussed, and repeatedly discussed (to varying degrees). I recommend reading the join CCP-CSM statements in regards to Incarna, and the corresponding threads.
