Originally by: clamslayer Again ccp is more concerned about what players do, rather than what players say. It's brilliant stance. Ccp knows most players are p***ies who will continue to pay their subscription and complain, than quit.
So, they players that are DOING by voicing concern don't count as much of the handful buying crap? And why does it have to be LOVE IT or QUIT? Why no middle ground? I'm not to the point of quitting, but I'm concerned it will get to that point. Obviously, I won't spend money on something that is that terrible.
I mean, surely you can understand something like that.

Look dude this s**t isn't f***ing rocket science, either you like a product enough to buy it or not. No product is perfect, eve is no different. By paying your subscription you are telling ccp that their product is worthy of your money. That is the message you are sending. Complaining does not change a product, lack of sales does. This is how it is, so grab a tissue, stop posting, and go play world of Warcraft, best thing you can possible do to get ccp to change things.
Btw, I said stop complaining, just because I say stop doing something, that does not mean that you "can't" do it.

I'm with ccp ceo, all the pouting and crying does not mean s**t, if you want to send a message then quit. Otherwise stop complaining.
Ccp created Eve, and if ccp want to run it into the ground they have every right to.
If I don't like what CCP is doing, I have every right to complain about it. Where did I sign that I can't complain about it? Is it in the EULA? If so, please quote it for me.
When did I say you can't complain? I never did. instead of pouting like a little girl, and continuing to pay your 15 bux or more a month to the evil ccp, you should trade your pilots license in for a staff of lightening and a robe of... F***ing magicery.
Again ccp is more concerned about what players do, rather than what players say. It's brilliant stance. Ccp knows most players are p***ies who will continue to pay their subscription and complain, than quit.
I'm definitely in ccp's corner
I would totally buy a staff of lightening and rode of ****ing magicery if it was added to the NeX store.

A Staff of Lightning would be cool. Too bad CCP would charge $200 for it though.

Awww you cant afford anything from the nex market, here is a tissue... Seriously who gives a ****... I think I'm going to buy the most expensive clothing and monocle just to irk the cry babies...
Btw, I would never spend money to buy plex, that is stupid, however I will use isk to buy plex to outfit my toon with the latest and greatest.

I think the pricing for the monocle is way too low. I mean really, it's gold and stuff. It should be at least $200.

I dislike 2 things about the current nex shop:
- isk prices for items are immersion beaking. Even the poorest among us are supposed to be rich compared to planet bound people. Common items as expensive as a dread? It's like Calvin Klein underware priced as a boeing 747. For 1.2B isk you should get a luxurious yacht or opulent quarters in a station or a exceptional piece of jewelry or a one off a kind exceptional piece of cloathing, not something common.
- the stuff is not destructible (probably because of technical issues as well as the insane price levels).

everyone that raged about monocles were like "oo something I can buy" and promptly shut up
I used ISK for mine. You know thats an option right?
Ive spent $0.00 for two accounts and goggles and ships by running missions and salvaging and selling salvage. Guess what? Holy frak its fun.
CCP isnt going to disable the store. We can either adapt or find another game. Pick one. I raged, i got my answers, i adapted. Should the prices be more in line with other titles? Yep. Is EVE reals? No. Marketing is high and if the playerbase average age was 11 and not 31, this campaign may work on us. When it runs its course and has failed, they can try again.

I think simply, the prices in the NEX store do not matter. If no one buys them, prices will go down to a reasonable level, or they will have sales. It's still a line of business, and they have to run it like one.
The rage was about a lot of other things really, the clothing prices were just an easy rallying cry to get the masses involved, as the economic and community-corporate trust issues raised by the leaked materials are obscure and difficult to communicate to the non-forum-reading EVE public.
I for one was mostly angry that I could no longer run my two accounts on a desktop which is well above the listed requirements. There was simply no warning about the strain that Incarna would put on average machines, and I wonder if CCP just figured, "Well if they really love EVE they will buy new computers to play it. If not, screw 'em, we don't cater to the poor".
Funny, I guess they would rather I buy a $70 monocle than continue to pay them an extra $180 a year?

To answer the question in the title:
Prices in the Noble Exchange are ludicrous. There isn't a single item there for which I'd be willing to pay even 1/4 of what CCP is asking.
Examples of things for which I'd be willing to pay: A ship skin that I could apply to any/all ships of that type I might ever own, even if actually applying it to a ship cost me some isk; the ability to create a custom tattoo or scar for myself, the ability to apply my corp's logo to my ships (at a very small price per ship).
I would also pay (more than a few cents to a couple of dollars) for the ability to create my own customizations/vanity items/skins that I could then sell, as long as I could sell enough items to make it worth my while. (I suspect that this will never happen, as it would lead to significant asset inflation for the EVE client. But I'd like the ability.)

Awww - fail at reading? It wasn't a question of affording the item. It was a statement of what would be a cool item ( which has absolutely nothing to do with an Interwebz Spaceship game ), and what I'm guessing CCMonocle would charge for said item.
In the mean time: you go right ahead and spend your real money/virtual money on every item in that NeX store Mr. 'Look how rich I am and what a big shot it makes me'. I'm sure it'll make your ePee-Pee much bigger. Play dress up in your captains closet to your hearts content...
Why don't you go take your WoW mentality and head back there to troll the forums...

Pricing doesn't matter if it's stuff people want. If everything in the store wasn't so bland and generic they'd sell tons. I guess their 'real fashion designers' were told to "imagine a future where everything is devoid of colour, fun, or flair" and just ran wild. If CCP had 1/2 a ****ing clue they would add a pirate hat to the store.

Originally by: Katil Khashour I'm quite surprised that so many people were raging before about the ridiculous prices and yet after the CSM meeting, everybody calmed down even though nothing changed. The monocle is still ridiculously priced! No, I don't want any vanity item but it shows how greedy a company is. You would have thought that they would have learned from their mistake and actually brought the price down but they haven't! To me that shows how greedy they are (all evidence is proof to that as well, please refer to the leaked newsletter).
They are apologising for the leaked content but yet they are not doing anything about it... So what good is the apology then?
Nah people realised they were ****ing into the wind, CCP board have decided and wonŠt change direction, they have VC on board that is also involved in Big Fish games, lobby for tie in if you really want to brown nose.

Most people weren't raging about the prices and most people raging have taken any number of actions from quitting, to just training skills, to managing their operations(business, corporation) until their sub or isk/plex reserves run out, are happy to believe the blatantly vague lie told by CCP and carried to us by the CSM, or are still voicing their disapproval on the forums etc.
All the reactions make sense when the message was basically 'we sorry' but 'nothing is changing' cause 'we be awesome'.
Changing the prices is pretty meaningless as the stuff is really craptastically unimaginative as well as even more limited than the free clothing options we had when the CC dropped on us. Who honestly thought that was possible? NEX prices are specifically designed as a stupid tax on the rich.

The rage was not about the prices for the overwhelming majority of angry players. The prices were (and still are) hilarious, but that did not drive the anger. Fears of pay to win items drove the anger.
