That's great and all, but the player (Ghost Hunter) you use to communicate with on the Sansha side is an alliance thief who has banned me from the in-game channel that event staff roleplaying Sansha characters use to communicate the location and progress of incursions during live events.
I've attempted to contact them about this and have received no response, so modified my roleplay accordingly.
What good is this to me? I'm most likely alone, but I also think of pilots who would rather not associate themselves with a known thief and the kids that flock to his banner; some of which laughably aren't deemed worthy enough to be in the aforementioned channel by the aforementioned moron who owns it.
Is this something you can address? I'll live, but it still leaves a sour taste.
Further, it's still near-impossible for Nation loyalist capsuleers to help during unmanned incursions. Kuvakei owes me a Megathron from my last attempt :p

Very excited! I read the news bits about the wormholes that recently opened and figured something big was coming up. I'm such a PVP noob that I don't think I'll be directly participating, but I'll be watching intently from the sidelines.

Roleplaying within the game needs a major boot up its ass. I mean, major. Roleplayers within Eve are the biggest bunch of elitist idiots I've ever tried to talk to - they do NOT let you join in, they don't help you with background material, they are just so full of it. I would much rather play around with BoB/IT/Raiden. than try any more to integrate myself with a bunch of... I won't say, I'm too polite.
Some will say "the material is out there" and "if you hang on the roleplay forums you'll learn" but the truth of it is, I was drawn into Eve by its background story. I'm a Caldari fan through and through. And yet trying to get into the RP crowd is harder than forcing yourself between a nun's legs. It's not impossible but it's so much effort!
CCP, you want better integration into the game? Try helping out with the roleplay side of things already. It certainly doesn't help that you have your favourites that get access to all the good plot!

Please can you fit normal supercarrier fittings for capsuleer eradication and actually kill them?
Not much fun in event when you just kill hundreds of npc battleships and then just smashing SC till the end without risk

Also, when will Angels show up? What is project "Thanatos"?

Ignore those people and carry on RP'ing your thing regardless. If you come up with something interested it will get acknowledged sooner or later. Personally I don't use any of the community sites other than the IGS and I just do what I think makes sense for my character.
What I don't do is try to involve myself with every damned thing, for one thing I only have some much time, for another I prefer to pick and choose what is relevant to me.
So long as you are respectful (OOC at least!) then you should be 'accepted' sooner or later. And if not, ignore them.

This is already happening, check the posts in Intergalactic Summit by Hilen Tukoss. And please join us in the Arek'jaalan ingame channel. It's a very fermentive brew pot of loremongering.

I'm with you on blowhards, just ignore them and carve your own niche. Dare to be bold pilot and don't let anyone get in your way of your ambitions for knowledge.
Also run the COSMOS constellation missions, they have a lot of important storyline material in them. Since you are Caldari you might be interested in the sites in the Okkelen constellation, they include Talocan archeological sites being excavated by the State. Algintal in Gallente space has Yan Jung ruins, Ani in Minmatar space has Sleeper ruins and story.

Silly question coming from a casual '05 player, but how on earth do you actually find out about the live events before/as they're happening.
In all my years, barring the recent Incursion ones, I've only ever found out about live events in the news reports after they happen.
Do you guys at CCP actively advertise them, or are there channels/newssites I can go to get a heads up?
I'd hate to only find out about them as they happen again and be 30+ jumps away as per usual.

Unless the sneaky devs drop clues, we have no warning. Best bet is to listen into the "Live Events", "BTL Pub" or "The Ditanian Fleet" Incursion channels if you don't RP. If you RP, "SYNEPublic" is a good choice, but be warned that it is an IC channel.
I almost forgot to add that you can join the FCORD Mailing list, as we usually get a mail out ASAP if there is one going on. And who knows? If they hold one when I'm online, I might be able to run a fleet again!

Some events have warnings, but most of them are rather spontaneous. There are some tricks to being in the right place at the right time, though:
* Sansha events are happening a lot more often in incursion regions
* Faction Warfare events are going down in... well... faction warfare systems. Also, certain players in certain NPC corporations get advanced notification... guess which? :)
* The forums are also a great place to find out where and when some events are going to happen. Keep reading!
