So yesterday i reactivated an alt i have not used in a while to move around stain...
did i mention i was drunk as a skunk...
so i jump in my hamm drake and setoff on a 16 jump no scout journy from t-8 to t-nn...
i was hounded all the way from bang bang you be dead...
so i jump into jvj and sitting there are a vega a cane and a harby...
I know i am dead... but try to get back to the gate...
I am jammed and scrammed... so i target the cane turn on my hamms and nuke the basterd to hell...
5 seconds later after i am already shooting at the harby i die... but saved the pod
moral of the story?
EVE rocks! best time in a long time there playing the game...
not sure if it was the booze or the complete lack of intelegence on my part (no scout and intel chans) that made it that fun... and to be frank i dont care...
i will be atempting more stupidness for now on as its re ignited my deep deep love for EVE!

One would think that, if you're crying about NEX prices, you actually intended to buy things for yourself. So, really, this isn't any different than seeing that really expensive ship you can't afford.
That aside, I've always loved EVE. Fly safe, Die hard |

I've recently started playing again. I look at the stuff in the NeX store and think to myself. "Man that crap is expensive" then I don't buy it. No harm no foul. I continue enjoying them game

Still love my EVE. Never doubted her for a moment. Although at one point I wasn't sure about CCP.
I'm pretty excited about the winter patching tbh. Not because I think it's going to be a brave new game, but because it's going to shake up nullsec and that's always fun to watch... from the pilot house of a stealth bomber.

Prior to release Incarna 1.0 I was saving for the upcoming clothes.
Now I am saving for a faction ship which, fit accounted, will cost me less than dressing my bloody main, and the ship will allow me to keep earning money and having my fun for hours upon hours -or until I grow tired of misions.

Missions should be a means to an ends... not the ends in it self... trust me once you are bored of missions and null sec ratting try on some stupid druken solo pvp... you will never go back

The OP's moral to the story, Eve is best played drunk.
I, however, woke up about the time of Incarna and sobered up. Sadly many of these 'I was there' type posts are more then exception than the rule. In a Rifter I have charged straight at (ie no transversal AT ALL) at ships in low and null that were at 50-100km to engage and they just run off.
I'll check back in in six months and see if anything is better, otherwise in 22 hours I'm docked for good.

Nope, it's still sleeping in the wet spot until the 18 months are over. If things continue to go down the poofter road then I might have to consider how good greed might actually be.

The day I joined a WH corp, and realized that there is indeed a place in eve that still revolves around small gang warfare, with plenty of chance to make isk and no local.
That was when I realized CCP had given people what they had been asking for for ages, and I hadn't even known it.

I'll base my views on EVE off of what CCP does, not necessarily what they say. Until I see some major TLC to several important FiS aspects of the game I'll remain sceptical and pessimistic (in other words; realistic). The actual gameplay has been neglected for far too long for me to trust CCP implicitly to do the right thing, and it's going to take quite a bit of CCP showing they actually care for the core gameplay to gain back that trust.

The NeX store introduction was major fail, no point in trying to deny that. Still i think CCP is a pretty cool company, some players whine about they treat their customers like crap, but i just don't see it. To me that are fairly open about the development of eve, they don't disclose every detail but i feel i get enough information about the development to be satisfied. Incarna was not my wish patch, but i like it better then PI. All in all i'm kinda looking forward to the walk in stations, gambling and corps offices sounds kinda cool, would be cool if the game had a more social aspect.
My feelings towards eve have not really changed, i still think eve is awesome. It's still fun to play with frinds, and i can't think of any game that gives the same options as eve. Being able to play my game time with in-game currency is freaking awesome, and i don't have to grind day and night to have decent gear or play 12 hours a day to progress my character.

I am quick to inform prospective pilots that EVE is IMHO not a simple PC game, but rather a full blown hobby. the slow-paced nature and time consuming, rewarding activities; so many of which are not based in combat which adds depth to an already massive scope.
I started EVE back in Nov. '03. The month before I found out about EVE for the first time. I spent every day looking up the backstory, technical requirements and so forth. I bought Earth & Beyond to sate me until I got my early Christmas present. Ahh, they nailed WiS but not much else! :)
Early November I made my toon and overlooked my Velator n00b crate in the hangar. I held my breath as I pressed the undock button. That's what I remember the best, what EVE is all about for me: immersion within a vast, beautiful galaxy. A place where I could make a difference, or choose not to. The complete freedom from RPG classes and their many cliches. A place to call home, wherever I may roam. Looking at my tiny craft leaving the safe arms of the UoC school and into the all-encompassing mystery of the cosmos with the haunting yet enticing soundtrack in the background is the foremost awe-striking memory I have in my 20+ years of gaming. And yes, widescreen mode was an option back then.
The atmosphere is what really draws me to EVE. For one, the haunting soundtrack speaks to me of deep secrets to be revealed and the almighty depths of space wherein I may celebrate my solitude among the stars, rather than be crushed by loneliness as many third-rate pilots have been. Secondly, as a lifelong space adventure enthusiast I am content to just fly and explore New Eden with no competitive goals or metagaming strategies. I am -for the most part- a purist gamer.
Even right now, as I cannot play EVE at the moment, I can look back on that chilly November day. Something I will always feel...An inspiring sensation I get whenever I look on pictures of nebulae and interstellar phenomena - a feeling neither remembered nor forgotten, the prophesying of our species' future inheritance.
Know that if we ever meet, that I will look you straight in the eye and tell you what I've known I always was, and always will be.
I am a Capsuleer.

Guys, we need to stop having fun so the clearly bitter-beyond-reproach folks here can have another pity-party in the forums.
Seriously, whining about NeX and Incarna is so last month. You guys need a new banner to wave around while self-mutilating in the forum of posting on a forum for a game that you propose to hate.
