Which was my point. I've built up so many corps/alliances + infrastucture and then torn them down just to do it again. After my sabbatical, it's not happening again. So now I'm going to play for FUN. Puts a whle new slant on things when you log in with a "I don't give a **** what I lose today" attitude. Even Mittens talked about risk aversion as being a blight on Eve. Perhaps all the carebears (of which I was chronically disposed to be) can learn something here and play Eve in the reverse. Disaccumulate. Try it.
Thats another great thing about EvE. It caters for different types of people. People play different games for different reasons, we all have our favourate. Some people like to create an organization, lead a bunch of people to success. Others enjoy EvE because of the social aspect, teamwork and the like. Some just like to see the world burn while lapping up the tears of their victims. Others play for all the things people lable as boring, such as carebears. Low and nullsec players will never understand why carebears continue to play considering the boring things they get up to in high, but it is exactly those things that make them continue to subscribe! Hauling imaginary things from one place to another for profit, mining endlessly, building stuff or just plain old missions. I've got a good friend that literally doesn't undock, so intent is he on his spreadsheets and industrial constructions.
Personally i think its great! The more people playing EvE the better, and be damned with the reason why. It caters for both Pve and Pvp styles. So i'm going to have to disagree with the mittens here, because i've always believed that both sides can exist in eve, regardless of how many people will cross the line and try to force their playstyle on those not interested in it. They're still going to play eve for the things they find fun. |
