Today I was looking at the Orca on the market and decided to do some ship spinning. So I clicked on the orca picture and got saw something funny:
ORCA
CALDARI - INDSTURAL COMMAND SHIP (1,100 M LONG AXIS)
Ok, when did the orca become a Caldari ship?
(Orca got magnetometric sensor type while Caldari got gravimetric sensor type. So Orca can't be a Caldari ship.)
All the other ORE ships are Gallente.
Someone care to enlight me why it is like this?

Its got a caldari body job so it's a caldari ship,just like the Ford cars with Japanese engines. Holden Australia only make badges

The Orca was developed as a joint venture between Outer Ring Excavations and Deep Core Mining Inc as a vessel to help meet the demands of New Eden's industry and provide a flexible platform from which mining operations can be more easily managed.

What about the Retriever then?
RETRIEVER
GALLENTE - MINING BARGE (404 M LONG AXIS)
A pure ORE ship but still Gallente...

You may need to read up the lore. ORE was a part of Gallente until they ran off for better rocks. In other words, ORE basically uses Gallente tech.

I do believe the Orca was made by a Caldari company and then sold to ORE. I could be wrong though.
If not I think it's a game coding thing, each ship needs to be put under a faction I guess.
