You and I aren't playing the same game then. CQ's graphics are not THAT bad.

I'd love to load the CQ, but currently I have to set texture qualities to medium for the game not to crash every time I dock, and that sorta kills it. Also, the load times are a bit long, so I'd want to see that improved, too. And I'd like to be able to lie down on the bed, and for Lifetime to be added to the TV thingy.

People who complain about this feature don't know sheat about how to up the graphics to max or their hardware is soo sheaty they blame it on CQ when their hardware is so antique it would run Doom at 1 FPS.
If they have major issues running CQ, they sure as hell can't run a real eye candy game like Crysis 2 on DX11 with max settings. I'll tell ya right now even any modern game couldn't run at decent fps on there hardware. Really sad stuff by far. So they must forum warrior! = Them.
Best if they all didn't troll so much. Too many trolls in eve forums, always complain about this and that when they don't really log into Eve, they play Forums Online and this is how they pvp. Text based PVP = real like hardcore and stuff! Gods really...
Move along move along... lol CCP is doing just fine without your negative comments. Your not playing the same game as the rest of us. If you don't like the game don't post trollol and quit. Wait, it takes years to quit eve I know, seen all them quitters post every day all around eve. Soo hard to quit eve, takes a long time too.

Merely having a run button and auto-run button would do wonders for me.
That and since it is a private captains quarters you should be able to choose where to spawn, I don't like having to walk to the other side just to access a basic menu if I want to use the quarters as it's meant to be used.

/me has CQ disabled
Ok so when I make a website I tend to try keep it pretty simple, and as browser friendly as possible.
Sometimes I have been starting to add some really neat features and stuff, only to find out it looks like crap on Internet Explorer older versions etc. And would also be a pain for those with slow Internet connections.
Should I make the next site according to the latest available features and make it look/function really good only for visitors with Chrome and a good highspeed connection, or perhaps compromise with some of the "cool stuff" and make it functional to most browsers?
Hm, this is something that I would like to compare to with what CCP is doing with EVE right now. I bet they have had alot of discussions internally about things like this, and apparently came to the conclusion it's time to move on..
That also means it's time for the "older" playerbase to get better hardware I guess, or leave. As for myself, I'm working on getting better hardware.

I turn it off. What's the point of it anyway, except for some WASD itch. If only they added a "hub" for each station with communal areas for people to interact.
Like an "auction house", which is really the Market, and people would enter it to purchase their crap.
Think WoW in Orgrimmar.

The incarna we saw long time in fanfest was totally different than the one they implemented.
Most EvE players couldn't care less if their characters were running with some older gfx engine with same quality/performance what for example half life 2 or counter strike:source offers.
The current solution is too _way way_ too heavy, way too focused on "barbies able to dress nex clothes" and way too force fed.
Lighter solution, with more content, with less RMT - done 5 years faster than current crap.
I don't see incarna going anywhere before we get space -> hangar -> cq feature and walking in stations gets own graphics settings what can be tuned to _ultralow_. Hell I would play with wireframe graphics if that is what it takes to keep computer more cooler and more quiet.
Incarna in its current form is pain in at least my butt and haven't been loading it at all since first couple weeks. If someday the option to keep it unloaded will be lifted and no 3rd party :excellence: hack to disable it doesn't show up, it is time to unsub again.
~25 fps in CQ - 60 in space... Nice work on syncing the gfx settings :ccp: - there is only 140% tolerance.
Isn't it kewl to get such positive feedback from the :excellence: every day? Assembly Hall is that way --> I suggest some research before failcarna bubble bursts to your faces.

CQ is fine.
If you can't run it, then don't, but better and better graphics are kind of a "thing" in computer gaming and developers shouldn't be forced to not provide the best looking product they can to those that can take advantage of it.
Eventually, you won't be able to turn off station environments. If you can't run it, then the answer is to upgrade your pc, not whine until CCP is strangled into providing an inferior product to accommodate you being cheap. -------------------------------------------

I look at the door.
Whats the point of CQ...? All it is at the moment is a UI where you have to run around to activate different parts.
Plus, despite all the hype about how graphicly intensive and cool liiking it it... my characters look like a cheap waxwork modle of my bio pic. --- Jint Hikaru - Miner / Salvager / Explorer / SpaceBum I can tell you that this is one of the moments when we look at what those at CCP will do and less of what they say. |

Actually for me (on full settings) sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Most times it actually looks very good, but under certain kinds of lighting, it looks like a hideous waxwork. Weird - something to do with shaders perhaps?

Yes, the shaders on the character models seem the weakest point and is one of the hardest things to do.
The rest looks pretty amazing. -------------------------------------------

Originally by: Razin I kept it on at first, just to see what it would be like. After enduring the loading screen several times just to get what I already knew to be soul-crushingly pointless fluff, I turned it off and never looked back. As an added bonus The Door loads instantly.
This pretty much sums it up. When there's something to do (other than buy surreally over-priced pixelbarbie clothes ) I'll consider switching it back on. Until then, I dont care if it can run on a Z80.
At the moment, the CQ reminds me of nothing so much as being stuck on a Travel Lodge on the M3 (I'm specifically thinking of the one just North of Southampton, where there is no access to any bars or anything else except the petrol station where I used to have to stay 4 nights a week for weeks on end. God I hated that prison.)
