Look guys we have to get organized to start countering the events that have been creating to target honest Miners...they lied they said it would be only during the hulkagedon event and it has not stopped they continue to hunt down our ships and kill just for the thrill of it....are you tired and want to act against this event? If you have ideas of what we should do as a community let it be known here...if you are a troll and one of the epeen stokers that gets off on killing innocent miners that supply your ships then breeze on by please.

Either that or...
...get members to join your corp who stand watch while you mine (most likely boring). ...hire some security to stand watch while you mine (most likely boring and expensive). ...train an alt to stand watch while you mine (may take some serious training and Incarna multiboxing).
Though I know nothing about suicide ganking, thus nothing about if anyone would be able to intervene in time (another suicide gank fit, perhaps?).

This is a really great Idea I think what OP is refering to is getting together as a mining community and raising the mineral and ship prices and everything we produce to show that miners being innocently targeting do have more than just defense as an option. I would love to see people ( miners) and people against this thing start to show some action....the longer miners and industrialist allow the chat rooms and people that do this enjoy that there has been no recourse the more it is going to happen....for the negative "you know this is going nowhere"...... I think you are wrong and your comments are not welcomed here troll along please.

For you it may not be and we hope your kind will stay away from this posting please....I asked that trolls stay out of discussion. Yes TarTar2050 hit it on the head we can raise pricing to unacceptable levels and criple the eve economy and show that we are not going to play this game with them....it is a start I call for RED FRIDAYS as of now all Minerals placed for sell in market on FRIDAYS...by all Protesting miners please rise them to 200% starting immediately every FRIDAY till we get some sense of how that may effect things.

so the solution is to raise market prices by not selling your ore? I can't see how that would work.
as far as overpricing ships goes? good luck with that, you have an entire economy to do battle with over that point.
the "miners make PVP possible" argument is an oldie and a goodie, problem is its totally ineffective and will never stop people from ganking your ships.
fyi Hulkageddon was invented by the people who build hulks to keep the prices up, not by mean face piwats out for a thrill.

You know the know-it-alls specializing in brevity of wit just can't resist vandalizing posts like these with their delusional text. Breeze on? Geez. They're like picnic flies on the watermelon.
I think you hit the nail on the head. Organize and respond, and these pea pickers will be left to shooting each other. Maybe they can take turns promising not to shoot back.
I've given this a lot of thought, being in a "mining community" myself (though not a miner). I won't name the system so the flies don't come buzzing around. There, a handful of PvP corps take great pleasure in war deccing the hapless wonks who decide to feast on miners. It's symbiotic. Miners attract goofballs. PvP Corp decs said goofballs. We get some activity for about a day or two before the miner shooters decide to find somewhere else to "play". Doesn't take long. We've even seen a few players wind up having to delete toons stranded in station having spent their wad on ships trying to get away.
Woefully such is not the case EVE-wide. So, miners do need to use the only device available; union = alliance. And, of course, the so-called pirates will make an attempt to make a war of it, so determination and on-the-spot reaction is a must.
For pirates: Most of the hostility to you guys arises from nausea having to read your smacktalk in local. You'd be amazed the lengths some people will go to just to see someone NOT THERE saying STUPID SH*T in local anymore!

When I was just a little boy my mummy dropped me off at work each day and picked me up in the afternoon when she had finished her work. She finished 2 hours after I finished so instead of doing nothing for 2 hours waiting for her to pick me up I continued to work those 2 hours usually unpaid. I was raised to have a solid work ethic and I really liked my job.
My employers were impressed by this and I got substantially more overtime and was promoted ahead of others. When more staff were needed they always called me first. I was making at least 3 times more than my work mates.
Unfortunately someone informed the union that I was working 2 hours unpaid most days. I explained to the union why I was doing the extra 2 hours and it was no big deal to me.
The union that was supposed to look after my interests found this unacceptable, I was setting a bad example for others and it had to stop.
I refused, they put pressure and my employer to fire me, they did.
A week later I was rehired in a much better position that the union had no influence over.
That was the fist and last time I had anything to do with unions. Never again.

you had a good start but the above invalidated any point you may have been trying to make, since its obvious BS.
ever hear of pods?
the real reason the toons were deleted (if they were and you wouldn't have any way of knowing anyhow) would be that they were disposable toons there for the sole purpose of ganking miners.
However feel free to continue to delude yourself that your presence is making a difference

Suuuure, do get unionized, please. And then start a strike. Oh, and please, do have picket lines. And shoot the ones that don't comply and still mine, even if they're not in the union. Can you let me know a few days in advance ? That would be peachy.

That is a bad example of union. Unions are like political parties. They only see one way. If someone creates union in new Eden it has to be more liberal than real life ones are. <BR>

I for one am happy that you brought this up I own 4 accounts and have plenty of time and ISK to invest into something like this. I would love to launch some type of couter initiative to show these fools a lesson. They bragged about how many HULKS they killed lets do something to brag about how much we haulted the minerals from flowing freely through Eve...I think it is a splended idea please contact me and lets talk about it......I love Unions amd the word has multiple meanings and an Eve Miner's Union is a great idea. We need some one with skills to head up this operation anyone out there?

Where have I heard this tune before?? Oh, yeah.. It was me... back around 2007.
Revolution Now ! Fight the Power ! Right On !
There.. did I get that right?
Now go back to breaking rocks for less, because it ain't gonna happen with all the "slave" labor that is in this game in the form of bots or RMT peasants.

you do realize that in order for your "union" to have any effect on ganking that you yourselves will have to become the same gankers you so dispise
unless you are suggesting some sort of mega-corp, in which case how will you decide who's gonna be the CEO?

I think the OP and several may have a good idea going here. The guy that said you tried it back in 2007?? I don't think there were mass hulk hunts back then ...yeah actually I know there wasn't. Contact me ingame Raven Saint James I would be happy to help get combat pilots ready to patrol 5-6 systems at a time watching for gank gangs...and we can even bait them into it....wow this kind of gets me excited.

You know I would love to see the miners get unionized and try and raise the prices of the minerals.
First you need to get rid of all the bots mining. Then you got to convince the Russians not to sell. Then you have to talk to all the missioners and their refining of useless modules.
You can try and stick it to the gankers but when it comes down to it. You will never get egnough of the population to make a dent in the mineral market. You can try all you want, in this game it will not happen.

No need for a Union. Just brains. Tank your mining ship better and adapt your strategies accordingly. I'm a lone miner and I have doing just fine since then.

REMEMBER WHEN I WARP IN ON YOUR HULK AND 2 SHOT YOU NOT CARING ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES OF CONCORD..YOU DID THIS TO ME....LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!MUAHHAAHHHAHHAHHAA
