Stop with the nerfs. Ships specializing in one thing or another get their specialities nerfed because people can't adapt or even take the time to put any thought in methods to counteract them. It's sad and makes the game easier, not harder. Do you understand how much resurrection hurts? |

yk Seems like you would be more fit for fighting in capitals. I do get what you are trying to say, as I find those speeds really do not convey how big these ships actually are. Their movement, at least for me, make the frigates feel like they are the size of modern jets, which is actually how big fighters are in this game. But then again, we are not really discussing max speed as much as we are discussing agility, or as one poster identified above, a.k.a. their acceleration. Supposedly pods make these maneuvers possible, but it still feels a little alien to me.
This.
Battlecruiser combat feels more like Top Gun Fighter Combat than anything else. Its like playing Ace Combat or Tom Clancy's Hawk. |

Ships in EvE are slow (non warp speed)
International Space Station (ISS) Average speed 7,706.6 m/s (27,743.8 km/h, 17,239.2 mph) Number of orbits round earth 79362 (23 September) Wikipedia source, and is only a station, without super propulsion engines etc... not even a ship, while in EvE all rases living in future where ships should be more faster ... If it bleed we can kill it. |

The ships are only really going fast if you sacrifice either tank or gank or both, so I think it is fine as it is. Vote No. Compared to the speed neccassary for a space craft/vessel to surpass Earth gravity which is at an absolute minimum aprox. 11,2 km/s Eve space ships seem rather slow. |

Agreed Eve is to fast. Small ship fights are over in less then 10 seconds so learning is by being repeatedly exploded until you get it.
Between this and the sharp cost increase to go to cruisers the next ship class where timing is not such a split second thing and your mistakes are a lot more obvious thus easier to recognize and learn from in the heat of pew pew. I am hoping the new logi frigates backing buffer frig gangs can become a better learning tool for players interested in the crazy sometimes nail biting fun that is eve PVP. |

It's just the accelerations that are a little exaggerated, like frigates which often accelerate at well over 100 gravities. Lore wise from what I remember EVE Space works like this. The Warp Drive is always turned on creating a perma warp bubble around the ship even in normal space which has the effect of making drag affect mass like in atmosphere, the drag is also what allows us to bank. At what velocity is this "drag"? It can't be matched to the interstellar medium because then you would be pulled out of most solar systems at enormous speed. It can't be the nearest planet because then you would fall into that planet.
It could theoretically be anchored to gravitational wells rather than space itself, of course this is making the dozen or so assumptions the lore makes necessary.
I've always wished that stations were closer to their parent orbital bodies, something like LEO - they clearly aren't Geostationary. TEST Alliance BEST Alliance |

Comparing Eve physics to RL is fail.
The game combat is too fast. Needs a 15% reduction (think TiDi like).

What I find funny is that it seems like Eve combat has gotten faster, faster, and faster over the years.
Original pace of combat? http://community.eveonline.com/download/videos/default.asp?a=download&vid=30
Now things more jet fighter like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrrVDV_NsNo
