One thing that's not being talked about for miners in 0.0 is the POS Management. I used to live some time in 0.0 (2 years or more?) and mined there with 2 miners (Exhumer 5) and used my pvp char for hauling duty. As long as there is an outpost in the system where you can (read: allowed) to mine, all is good. But sometimes you just have one there and you would rely on a POS or do long hauling runs and leaving the barges unprotected (assuming you can use at least blue pos to store a combat ship there). The big problem with POS is that most corps in 0.0 won't give you the roles to set up your pos. Period. Or they set you a pos up, but charge you for fuel and fueling them, making them much more expensive than they normally are. And with standard fit, because they don't like the hassle to custom fit them with your needs. Fix and/change the pos rights to make it easier for corps to allow member poses as base of operation to mine. And i don't talk about a small mining-setup like space 500k m3 in it. Or even 1.4m m3 like a CHA has. That 2 miners fill up in a few hours (11 minutes around to fill a can for a Hulk, that's 54k m3 per 11 minutes, about 300k m3 per hour). Also refining in 0.0 is a major PITA. If I have to online the refining array it takes only 200k m3 for 3 hours work and since it uses 4000 tf it leaves my POS basically defenseless. Not cool! Especially not if you have a rorqual sitting in it and your hulks. that's 1 hour onlining and 3 hours per batch 2 bill ISK sitting ducks). No wonder most miners prefer to sit in highsec. I built my rorqual through my mining, i mined even all low end ores in 0.0 for it (my carrier also), that's a lot of work and it would have been cool if there were a way to increase the refinery to 95% with max skills and the array use only 2000 tf to leave the defenses intact. But first : Fix the damn corp roles that miners can set up their own tower without causing security problems for the corp. Make it "based at" roles, where a list of all corp poses appears and you can give for the pos at Planet X-Moon Y the role for this or that. Also make them stackable. That one can have roles here and there. (I'm a software developer myself and know that the GUI for that is not THAT complicated).
Now I'm living in a wormhole and I do mining there, too. But i never exported not 1 veld. I stack it up for carrier/rorqual production (C3, so i have to make those inside) and use it for ship and ammo production when needed. And I'm not talking about C3. Maybe you, CCP Greyscale, should additionally have a look at those numbers for ships and CAPs being build at arrays in a WH. Only T3 hull built in WHs or in general won't give you a complete overview on the numbers really used in WHs. Sure, there might be an excess on ABC, but rather than having those reduced I'd like to see veldspar, scordite etc go up in numbers as I need much more lowends than highends there.
Moving ice from high- to only lowsec and 0.0 would be a bad move for all. Exploration based with respawning belts within a few systems i can live with. Better to introduce ice grav sites or at least ice roids in normal grav sites in wormholes as the hauling is a PITA. 1 Pos takes about 340k isotopes per month. That's a lot of trips in a sneaky hauler. Additionally you need heavy water and LO. That's even worse. If i could mine those from time to time in my WH, that would be just fine :) Living in a WH is an option for people that are tired of 0.0 politics and ****talking corp/ally leaders (like : don't go on every roam because if you loose ships (which you pay for yourself) it looks bad on our KB...). I don't need this and i doubt that i return to 0.0 that easily. I'd rather cancel my 4 accs and go on with my life than sour it up with 0.0 life. I like roaming gangs, camps, pos bashing and pvp in general, but not that much that I live with the 0.0 politics. There i like my WH more, although WH is much more dangerous than 0.0 (no local,new entrances...)
